As long as I could read the story somewhere, I don't know how many big dollar original comics I'd actually want. If I had the money for Action Comics #1 or something, I'd much rather have that money than the book. -

For me it would be a toss up between Detective #27 and Action #1, probably Detective though.
Honestly, I'd be happy with an original Transformers #1 in NM condition. This is the only comic from my childhood I don't have and haven't replaced yet.
@dubbat138 I bought my dad a set of low print run Zap Comix because he loved them back in the day and his dad (my grandfather) burned all of his stuff when he went to the Army thinking it was all junk. His dog was even named Snoid from the Sewer Snoids. "I'll whop yer ass with this here hairbrush!" :) -

Nice ,I have seen a few first printings of Zap 0 but never wanted to pay what the price was.

Amazing Spider-Man 121 and 122. Not fully out of reach on price but kind of hard to justify against a family budget. -

ASM #121 is the biggest single issue gap I have in my Amazing Spider-Man collection. I found one at C2E2 in VF condition and even when my wife gave me the nod to get it, I couldn't do it. It's hard to justify that kind of purchase when supporting a family. Even though I saved money specifically for this issue, in the back of my mind all I could think of was which home repair the money would be better spent on. -

Not that I don't love Mr. Justice and Slaughterman, but you are correct. Probably the reason I don't own it. *laughs*Probably Comico Primer #1.

What Stewart said. Also Flash Comics 86-104, which was Black Canary's entire Golden Age run. I've hardly seen any and the early issues run around $1000 each in pretty rough condition, and I assume the last ones, and the first must be astronomical if you could even find them.

I love Green Lantern (Hal) but Showcase #22 is just an ok cover, and Green Lantern #1 is a joke (seriously there's a clown on the cover!). I'd say I'd put my money into the best copy (CGC 9.8 if one ever surfaces for sale) of Green Lantern/Green Arrow #76 with that amazing Adams cover...
but really?
Planet Comics #1 the Denver copy. CGC 9.4 highest graded, pedigree, and rare as all get out.
