Cursed Pirate Girl - pretty but how's the story?

I haven't read Cursed Pirate Girl but I've seen enough images to know it's a stunning book. I pre ordered the HC on the art alone. I'm wondering if the story is any thing to write home about? I'm fine if this ends up being a book I just look at but I'm hoping it has a kick butt story to go with it.

I like the story just fine. It has a Lewis Carroll feel to it, though admittedly the language isn’t nearly as engaging.

I also enjoyed the story. It took me most of the first issue to go into the mindset that I needed to be in, but once there, the world washed over me.

It very much had a "Adventures of Baron Munchausen" feel to it, which is always a big plus in my book.

I highly recommend it.

when it comes to collected editions of anything I know nothing about, I will find a way to check out the first issue or so, that way I'm not blowing lots of money on stuff I don't want. I read the first issue of this, pretty lame, and I understand why they chose the font, but good hell that is really hard to read.

I don't know I saw someone else raise the Gilliam/Munchausen comparison but I wouldn't go that far personally. It doesn't really hit like that for me. I just got my Ichiro in a couple days ago and that book is amazing art and story. Scary Girl by artist Nathan Jurevicious is awesome too.

Met Jeremy today at Planet Comicon. He didn't have any trades left to purchase, but the prints he had for sale were gorgeous. I'll probably pick up the hardcover, on his advice
