I think I'd rather see comics and the radio show they jokes about. I'd pay for a monthly Firefly podcast/radio show. I'm actually kind of surprised no one has tried that with a cancelled series with a vocal fanbase.

Whedon made a little joke about this a few months ago. A fan suggested he start a Kickstarter campaign to produce a new season of Firefly and he pointed out how unrealistic that would be. He broke it down in a few easy steps.

"Step 2: Cancel Castle. Step 3: Cancel Homeland. Step 4: Generally destroy everybody's careers. Step 5: Avoid Step 2".

Not sure if it's to your taste, but she stars in a Canadian drama called The L.A. Complex. It's airs in America on the CW. I think it's a Melrose Place type show, but raunchier.

If you can, you should get a hold of the Canadian version because The CW has to edit it for content.
