Some of the big announcements of the panel were Bill Willingham declaring that this would be his last San Diego Comic Con for the foreseeable future.

Also FablesCon was officially talked about, the actual title of the event being Fabletown And Beyond because as Willingham said the show would be about “fables and books like Fables, in this corner of the talking animals, talking toys, characters from literature corner of the vast comic book marketplace.” Originally planned as having 10 guests, at the most recent count it has already reached 30. Mark Buckingham will be the guest of honor and the show will be held in Rochester, Minnesota. The facilities that have been chosen have been chosen specifically for the expansive indoor space, an underground city built for the wealthy visitors of the Mayo Clinic. This space will enable convention goers to remain indoors in the bitter Minnesota March. March 22-24, 2013 is the dates and interested fans can visit fablescon.com for more information.

I guess this explains why he was sitting in front of a "Visit Rochester, Mn" sign at SpringCon.

Anyways, this isn't too far away from me and I have family in Rochester so I might go. I could see this being pretty cool..I guess it all depends what "the books like Fables" are.

Well, that and he lives there now, which is why he's coming to all of the MNCBA events, and shows up at The Source all the time.

I have my hotel room reserved already and I will be driving 10+ hrs for this. Fables is my favorite book by far.

@CaptShazam that's cool! Rochester is a great city(I used to live just outside of it). My only concern is the weather. March can still be nasty here in Minnesota.

@Mr_Cosmic I am a little concerned about the weather too, but supposedly the hotet is connected to the convention area by sky tunnel. If I can just drive in from Colorado, i think things will be fine. This will be my first time in Minnesota. I was originally planning on going to SpringCon but when I heard about a Fables Con, I changed plans rapidly.
