I've been doing a series of stories for the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund on the history of comics and censorship and someone suggested I start a thread with them. I've previously written about book burnings, Ray Bradbury, Stan Lee's fight with the CCA and an overall history.
My new post is up. This time, we go Down Under for a sordid tale of sex, murder, and buxom comic damsels. (I mean Australia, get your mind out of the gutter)
;-).

New @CBLDF post. Folks freaked out over Orson Welles War of the Worlds. But what did the FCC think? Happy #Halloween http://t.co/1s179l21

New CBLDF post up. Today, it's all about love, or more specifically "Love Comics" with the Rise and Fall of the Romance Comic genre.

I'm not sure if I mentioned that these are all safe for work despite the subject matter. (edgy in the old days is pretty darn tame today.) The Shuster one is on the fence, ironically because I quote what the judge wrote about the banned book, which was far more obscene than anything in the banned book.

I'm getting back to comics history soon with the Batman vs. Wertham and columns on the rise and fall (and rise again) of the Western, Horror and Crime genres, (as well I hope some surprises) on the burners.
Let me know if there is an area that you want to see covered and I will do my best to find out about it.
New CBLDF article is up discussing how three teens in Des Moines changed censorship law. Again, not comics, but . . . . OK I got nothing, they needed the article. :-)
