I was searching for a comic shop in Oregon on behalf of a friend. Excalibur Books and Comics seemed to get a lot of online praise for its back issue supply. When I Google mapped it, I was floored - literally. The map gave me a virtual tour of the interior of the shop. Wicked!

Yes, adding detailed maps and images of locations is the new trend in mapping. Regular maps and even street view are now old hat. The way to satisfy your users is now in-store/venue navigation.

It's awesome to know where in the airport/mall/museum you need to go before you actually get there.

The race is on. Pretty soon you will see this from all major map companies.

It's a great shop. They have a 50% off sale every 6 months or so. I expect there will be one coming up for Labor Day. I'm more than willing to travel the two and a half hours or so to get there for it. If I lived in Portland, it would be hard for me to give up DCBS for it, but I just might.
