Can't find this song on youtube, most likely cause the band isn't really known at all. But Red Hair had a song called "Conan's Balls". And didn't Matthew Sweet do a song about the "Evangeline" comic?
Five For Fighting 'It's Not Easy' Three Doors Down 'Kryptonite' Tenacious D 'Wonderboy' Beatles 'Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill' (Notable for mentioning Captain Marvel).
Another one that I don't know how I could forget. The entire first album by Fantomas. The concept behind the album is that it's the soundtrack for a non-existent comic book. There are no lyrics to the songs, each track is pretty short and the names of the tracks are Page 1, Page 2, etc.
Can we throw in a band that's named for a comic book series which it bases its albums around, or is it that they base the comic series around the album? Whatever the case, they rock!
I should probably mention Image's Comic Book Tattoo which is an anthology book featuring stories all of which are based on songs by Tori Amos. Granted, it's sort of the reverse of what this thread asks for.
Can't believe I forgot about both of those XTC songs. Sadly, they're one of those bands I owned on cassette tape, but never made the leap to CD or MP3 in my collection, so I haven't listened to them in years. I should really get some of their stuff.

I know it's a cover, but I like this version. And since the cover was on a soundtrack for a (completely different) comic book movie, it gets bonus points. And I think the line about "riding through your town with his head on fire" isn't in the original, which ties it in more to the comic book character.
You talking about the song Ghost Rider by the Rollins Band on The Crow soundtrack. Cool song. Rollins Band also do a faster version on one of their own CDs. The original version is by a band called Suicide.
Not a comicbook song per se. However, years ago on the DC Forums, there was a topic devoted to the appreciation of Kendra's (Hawkgirl) ass. Rags Morales would post on the topic. Someone asked him about a theme song for his run on Hawkman and he mentioned this song.

And all this time I also thought the same song referenced Doctor Strange, but reading the lyrics today I realized she's actually saying "Mr. Stress".
I have that song along with the rest of the JLA album on my mp3 player. The Metamorpho theme is my youngest son's favorite song.
