Favorite Non Superhero Books??

I have been trying to think of non-superhero books to share with a few of my not so nerdy family and I was wondering what comics you guys would suggest. Help me forums, your my only hope!!

What you choose depends on what types of writing they might already like (autobiography, history, crime, literary fiction, etc.).

Depends, do you consider pulp characters "superheroes"? If not, then I recommend the lines from Dynamite Entertainment.

If you do, old school GI Joe is (mostly) amazing.

I would love some of the ogn's or older stuff if you dont mind. I was thinking of trying completed material first before i get them buying ongoings lol

I've only read the first issue do far, but I've got the rest in my pile to read. It definitely got off to a good start. It feels like it would fit right in with the Cartoon Network lineup.

Who do you suggest from Dynamite?

Unfortunately, the pickings have slimmed down this past year. The only Shadow appearances are the final couple issues of Year One & the Midnight in Moscow (Chaykin's "prequel" to his Blood & Judgment mini). There's a Trinity type series starting with Shadow, Doc Savage, & Avenger starting.

Doc Savage has been good. Flash Gordon is also picking up steam.

I have also picked up but have not had a chance to read yet Winter World and Splinter Cell. I got the trade to the original Winter World stories, so I would like to read that trade first before I get into the new ongoing.
