There are 4 things I'm really excited about.

Batmanga - There was an episode of Batman Brave and the Bold that introduced me to Batmanga. I'd never heard of it before so I'm super excited to get to read it.

Howard the Duck Omnibus - I could not afford the original release and really wanted it. When Marvel solicited a new version Alias Omnibus I got super excited hoping this would come out.

A new Mouse Guard coming out as a hardcover instead of single issues, which is awesome. I'm always really excited to look at, then read, Mouse Guard.

A double collection of Don Rosa Duck books. I started getting into the Ducks comics universe a few years ago so Fantagraphics release of these HCs has me excited.

edit: I tell my wife that a lot my all ages books are "for our daughter/future children". I really hope my daughter likes to read comics or I will never be able to justify to my wife anything again. This has to payoff.

    DC:

Gotham by Midnight #1: I'll probably get this ongoing. I like the idea of a horror book set in Gotham that DOESN'T feature Batman. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure DC will make this a Batman co-star book eventually (which is probably when I'll drop it), but the idea of Jim Corrigan leading the book...that's awesome. Spectre anyone?

    Marvel:

Amazing Spider-Man #9: Olivier Coipel is doing the art. Seriously awesome. I couldn't get enough of his work during the JMS run of Thor. So much so that I got the omnibus when it came out. Having never really followed Spider-Man, I'm excited to start with some amazing artwork. And the whole "Spider-Verse" thing has me intrigued as well.

Guardians of the Galaxy #21: It's no secret I'm a huge fan of Venom. So it's no surprise either than I chose this. I've also heard great things about Bendis as a writer so I feel it's worth a shot.

    Dark Horse:

Itty Bitty Comics: The Mask #1: To this day, The Mask is still one of my favorite comedies. Definitely my favorite Jim Carrey movie. Art and Franco always do great work and their style ties PERFECTLY into the zany world of the Mask. Gotta have it.

    BROWNCOATS STAY SHINY ZIP HOODIE

    SERENITY SHIP MODEL HOLIDAY HANGER

BATMAN THE COMPLETE TELEVISION SERIES BLU-RAY SET
  • The two things I am most excited about: Tooth & Nail and The Art of Robert McGinnis.

  • DC:

    Justice League 3000 #11
    Justice League Dark #36

    Marvel:

    All-New X-Men #34 & 35
    Cyclops #7

    Other:

    The Bigger Bang #1 (IDW)
    Capture Creatures #1 (Boom!)
    Deep State #1 (Boom!)
    Django Zorro #1 (Dynamite)
    Ghost Fleet #1 (Dark Horse)
Grindhouse Drive In Bleed Out #1 (Dark Horse)
    The Humans #1 (Image)
    Lazarus TP Vol. 1 (Image)

    Shadow Show #1 (IDW)
    Sonic The Hedgehog #267 (Archie)
    Sonic Universe #70 (Archie)
    Twilight Zone #11 (Dynamite)

It's hard to believe there was a time when the only indie books I was picking up were Sojourn, The First and the occasional Dark Horse Star Wars comic. I'm sorry, Marvel and DC. But we'll always have Paris.
  • If I had REAL money, that Zap boxed set would be mine. $500? For $500, R Crumb should come to my house and make me feel creeped out and uncomfortable in person.
