Listened to it yesterday. Nice job guys. As I expected, I was particularly moved by @brydeemer’s contribution. I didn’t get to know Jamie as well as some of the other geeks. I only really spoke to him the few times I worked Baltimore Comic-Con. He and @ShaneKelly would always make a point to stop by the booth and say hi. He never stayed very long, but he had many rounds to make and people—friends—to talk to. I’m pretty sure he spent most of his time at the show doing just that—catching up with friends. It seemed like every time I caught a glimpse of him on the floor, he wasn’t digging through a back issue bin (though I'm sure he did some of that while he was there), he was chatting with Katie Cook or David Petersen or...

Just a hunch on my part, but I think that’s why he was so invested in CGS, because of the network of friends he made through the show. He valued the show so highly because he valued his friends so highly. We could all use more friends like that.

Great episode, guys! As someone who has only been listening since early July (of this year), I can't describe how strange it was to hear one older episode with Jamie from your archives...and then discovering only through the "past tense" references to Jamie on more current episodes that he had, in fact, died in 2014. Of course, since that time I have listened to at least 100 episodes, and have gotten to "know" Jamie that much more, and now share my own fond memories of his words and larger-than-life personality. I'm fifty years old myself, so I always see him as more of a contemporary when it comes to remembering comics, toys, TV shows, and other aspects of growing up in the 70's and 80's. How strange it is to like somebody more and more after they are no longer here...but that's the situation I find myself in. Thanks for your dedication to your dear friend, and thanks for "sharing" him with all the rest of us who never had a chance to interact with him in person. True friends are all a man could ever hope for.

This episode brought me to tears and back to the forums. I have been away from this community for a few years (although I do still listen to the podcast) and after listening to wonderful memories of Jamie D. I was compelled to re-join the forums and community. Jamie D. is a tad younger than me so I understood his perspective on older comics and TV. I miss his voice and after meeting him back at episode 200 my respect grew. He was a force and when I returned for episode 300 he met my current wife and treated her as if he had known her for years. Great episode and I look forward to being back in the CGS fold.

Finally got a chance to listen to this one. I wanted to do it when I could listen, absorb, & reflect. I'll admit it was both very well done & difficult to listen. @Pants did a great job putting the show & clips together. Great stuff by the listeners submitted.

This was the first time I actually heard Jamie's voice since I last saw him a week before he passed. It was an unsettling feeling, but brought back some great memories.

Such a moving show. @Pants you done a great job on this one. Lump in throught throughout until Drunk Cap came on talking about 15 being to young. Couldn't help but laugh. I imagine Jamie would be laughing down too.

I wanted to call but just couldn't bring myself to do it. I love the fact that we have all those hours of old episodes to hear him again. Whenever I dig out an old show the highlight for me is always the 'I'm Jamie D'. Jamie also got me on Valiant after his rave reviews, now their books are the main bulk of my pull list. That's just the small way he changed my life. But I'm thankful for that, just wish I had a chance to thank him.

I still haven't had a chance to listen. I don't want to listen while at work and run the risk of getting dusty. And, I just haven't had a chance to listen at home. However, I do want get this in. Pimp is a hero of mine. While he was dealing with cancer, I never got the feeling that he was retreating from life. Going through my own medical issues this year, it's become very clear to me on just how easy it is for that to happen.
Also, one of the things I've told my kids is that "you are who you hang with". I had the blessing of meeting Pimp, Shane, and the Murd at the first Denver Comic Con "Pre-party". You can tell the quality of a man by the way his friends treat him. Shane and Adam took the best care of Jamie. It was inspiring to watch. Well done.

I listened to Jamie's Essentials before I ever heard a regular episode of CGS. His love and knowledge for the comics he was discussing made me want to hear more.

Such a beautifully done show, thank you to everyone who helped to make it. We should all be so lucky to be remembered as fondly as Jamie D is. Wherever he is, I am 100% positive that he was beaming to see and hear what his CGS loved ones did for his birthday. I, too, was feeling great emotion merely listening to it as a longtime fan of the podcast; loving all the stories, and welling up with tears when Pants started to cry, and laughing my ass off at that Drunk Cap closing to the show! To CGS - thank you so much for this. And happy birthday, Jamie.

I am a rather reserved and quiet kind of guy who usually doesn't initiate conversations, so I never really talked much with Jamie D at the various CGS gatherings (episode 200, 300, and the Super Shows). But I always enjoyed his contribution to the podcast and regret not taking the initiative to talk with him at those events. One can't help but well up with tears listening to this episode, especially hearing Pants and Drunk Cap. Thank you Jamie for all you did for the show and a belated Happy Birthday!

Hey folks, nice Jamie D. celebration episode! I don't have much to say about Jamie, except that I enjoyed his presence on the show. I'm older than he was, but I feel our tastes in comics was quite similar, especially concerning the Avengers and Strangers in Paradise. Oh, I did meet Jamie D. once. It was at Fan Expo, I think. Maybe it was a couple of times at that con, actually. I talked to him briefly while I was talking to Uncle Sal, and I met him again on the last day when I said my good-byes to the CGS crew. It was kind of an awkward good-bye in that I didn't really know what to say to him. Almost needless to say though, is that he will be missed.

Read these two pages the other day and I immediately thought of @JamieD. Cap's not my favorite character, but with this dialogue by Johnathan Hickman in Avengers #34, I can totally see why he was Jeremy's. This is also why I will always read the superhero funny books.
