A New Justice League of America by Johns/Finch

Looks like we get a third Justice League book...again.

a new Justice League Of America comic, made up of Green Arrow, Katana, Martian Manhunter, Baz the Green Lantern, Stargirl, Vibe, Hawkman and Catwoman.

The team sounds interesting.

Never been a fan of Green Arrow. Manhunter needs to be in the main title. Dont like the 500 green lanterns. And the rest I have no interest in. Except maybe Catwoman, but I dont like her as a member of JLA.

Well I am wrapping up my issue buying by then so if I hear good things I will get it in late 2013. If not, oh well. Sigh, I still miss JLI.

I'm fairly excited about it. Love finch's art and I think Johns has the *potential* to work really well here. Though I'm not sure why Catwoman is here, I think the interaction between her and GA will be brilliant. Also the preview art appears to be more in line with the old Green Arrow which is long overdue. I'm assuming this is the book Johns is leaving Aquaman for so it really needs to be good.

I don't get Johns' quote about Stargirl being someone who thrives in the shadows. 'Course this Stargirl could be completely different than the one from the old DCU.

Does this mean the end of the regular Green Arrow title? It sales numbers are hovering in the low 20k's and I cannot see why that character needs to be double dipped.

@CaptShazam I really hope so. I've been buying that book for awhile and keep hoping for it to get better. I hope they give him a soft reboot in this book for a year or so and then bring his series back. Although, with Arrow coming out, DC is probably going to want to be publishing a GA solo series to try and get the character as much exposure as possible.

David Finch is drawing this? The guy who, on the previous incarnation of Dark Knight, managed to produce three issues within a year on a monthly title. Kinda makes Jim Lee look very energetic and productive all of a sudden.

That's very different and interesting line-up, but I'm not making a decision on this until for info come out on it.

I'm game. As much as I have been running cold on Johns lately as a writer, I do love a weird lineup, and I think it is fun when there are characters in a team book you can't read other places. It is hard to not immediately think of Extreme Justice from the description and cast, but hopefully the execution will be better than that. I also have enjoyed Steve Trevor's role in the New 52. He seems to be a mix of their Nick Fury and (pre-heel turn) Max Lord.

i'm almost getting a little Justice Society vibe (pun intended, heheheh) off this lineup but that may just be Stargirl and Hawkman in the lineup. have we seen Stargirl in the DCnU yet? I'm curious about this new GL Baz. I love Green Arrow but havn't enjoued this particular iteration of the character at all. Good to see Martian Manhunter, i felt like his absence from Justice League was pretty glaring before even if they did have him in Storm Watch. Like any new series there is a lot of potential here in both directions.

I love me some Finch, but dropped Dark Knight out of Batman fatigue. This will be a better way to get that fix.

I have to say that this is a very interesting line-up. I'm curious and that's about as far as I'll go with it for now. Maybe the first issue will blow me away but as for now, I'm going into it with a bit of curiosity and not much else.

Still very new to DC...maybe I'll drop Stormwatch, and pick this up...expand my character exposure.

I still haven't really heard why... as in, why this particular grouping in place of the already established JLI, which they just cancelled? The JLI was only just beginning to gel as a group and the book was cancelled, even though its sales were better than a half-dozen or so other books that were closer to the cancellation mark.
