I still haven't really heard why... as in, why this particular grouping in place of the already established JLI, which they just cancelled? The JLI was only just beginning to gel as a group and the book was cancelled, even though its sales were better than a half-dozen or so other books that were closer to the cancellation mark.
I wondered about this as well. i think i had read somewhere that JLI's cancellation was part of some sort of larger master plan and maybe this is an extention of that. This groups racial/gender diversity is glaring when placed next to the main JL title. or rather that main teams lack of it is glaring. might as well change cyborgs name to "token".
