The Avengers on Blu-Ray/DVD is released soon!

In the UK the Blu-Ray and DVD for The Avengers will be released September 17th, and in the US it's out on the 25th September. Will anyone be getting this? And if so, which version? DVD, Blu-Ray, or 3D Blu-Ray?

I'll be getting the 3D version probably because I have a 3DTV, but probably won't watch it in 3D because it gives me headaches. That's true geek commitment.

Well actually, true geek commitment would be getting the 6 Movie Collection, but I already have the rest of them so I can't really justify it :)

Got me the (2D-)Blu. Haven't watched it yet - it's on top of my "to-watch-pile".

Wow it's really already out in Switzerland? That's early. Do you guys normally get releases earlier than most other places?

Got my copy here in Oz & bought a Blu ray player so I could watch it. Got Item 47 on the disc, which isn't on the DVD. Good but only a 6 minute documentary on it. Not really heavy on the special features. Expected more for Blu ray

For a while now we seem to get US movies - be it at the theaters or on home media - much earlier than in the old days. Don't know why really.

I am psyched because after the movie came out and I started watching the commercials on my big screen in HD (I was on media blackout) and I looked at the Hulk and thought "I can't wait for the blu-ray!"

I don't have a blu-ray and don't have any plans to be getting one in the near future. But, considering that it may very well be the wave of the future, I'm getting the dual-DVD set, which contains both a regular and a blu-ray disc. So I'm covered.

My local Target seems to have the best offer.
$24.99 for the deluxe edition (3D bluray + regular bluray + DVD + digital copy + soundtrack download). In addition to the standard content, Target is also bundling a 90-minute exclusive bonus Avengers documentary DVD.

FYI the 90 mins "exclusive" bonus DVD in the UK seems to have contained recut special features from previous Marvel releases.

On the amazon wish list. Blu-ray + digital package. Amazon says the big box with all the movies won't come until q1 2013. Too bad. They will miss out on Xmas.

I'm not allowed to buy stuff like this between now and Xmas bec my bday is in oct. my wife gets a bit upset when I buy this kind of stuff.
