Most titles are dropping down to single shipping except for Iron Man, I already knew Avengers and Xmen would be double shipping so I am okay with that. ASM stopping at 700 is a bit suprising. If my budget holds up and there's a 50% discount I'm looking to purchase all of the Marvel NOW! titles.

Overall excited for what looks like a strong December, except Image didn't impress me too much.

I noticed that too with Deadpool. If I knew that some of the titles would drop down to single shipping I would have gotten a few more titles for November.

I waited for these solicits to come out just to make sure they weren't going to double ship every month to be on the safe side before I placed my order for November. If they were double shipping, I would have dropped probably half the order I currently have now.

Wow. Marvel's really giving me a shot at getting back into them. Wish we didn't have all these $3.99 titles though (even with a DCBS discount).

Down to two Marvel titles come January. I'm interested in lot of the new stuff, but with so much of it double shipping to start, I'm out. I might grab it in trades.

    @Sigurdjarlson

Yeah, I could go in my November order and add. I thought about it but the order is ridiculous as it is. I've been trying to stay around 100/month before bags/boards/shipping. I haven't been succeeding!

I just started using DCBS a few months ago each month my money spent keeps going up, which is a good thing because I'm getting more comics for a discounted price, but my wallet isn't feeling too well

Ugh. Aquaman and Supergirl are both tied up in crossovers. Hope they stay readable on their own or else my pull list might get a little leaner.
Damn it! Now I'll have to get Aquaman.

That's the "lie" of DCBS. "Hey, I'm saving money on the comics I buy. That means I can buy more of them!" :)

I've been living that lie for about 5 years running now. :)

    So, my thoughts:

    Image

Morning Glories - 48 pages for 3.99? I'm happy with that.

    DC

Wait, Moloch gets a series now? The hell?

I still don't care about Superman. But Supergirl and Superboy? Have my continued support and enjoyment. Damn the crossover for making me buy Superman!

    Grifter
vs the Suicide Squad? I might have to take a second look at Grifter.

    Marvel

Hooray Thunderbolts. I've enjoyed just about every incarnation.

Avengers Arena looks interesting. And like Battle Royale.

Hell, I'm getting most of comics.
  • Hmm. No Winter Soldier this month? I guess my monthly total decreases by at least one title this month.

Something's screwy there, because Jason Aaron is supposed to start his run with issue #15 in January, and it's not double-shipping in November—only issue #13 was solicited. I'm thinking they forgot to include it in the release.
  • If DCBS does another 50% off pack, I'll probably buy in again.

I'm happy for a clean jumping on point. I read the first few months worth and then decide what I continue to read.

    I'm looking forward to it.

They certainly aren't wasting top talent on the Legion Lost cover.

That is a pretty terrible cover. Sometimes, maybe it is OK to judge a book by it's cover. DeFalco is, after all, still "gracing" the book with his... I'd say presence, but miasma seems like a better word.

    ...freakin' 'imploding outward'...

That's exactly what I've been doing for the past few months!

The real fun is when you say to yourself "This month I'm going to set a budget of $xxx and I'm sticking to it!"

That will be the month the ultra-cool statue of your favorite character of all time will be released, DC and Marvel will both be putting out books that not only LOOK great, but have creative teams you love as well, and that indie book you've been reading? Trade format with extras not included in the single issues.
  • It's just too tempting to pass up 50% on a trade when you know that you won't be able to get that price three months from now or getting a issue 75% off.

I envy you guys in the states with DCBS. I gotta pay over the odds for everything I buy here in the UK. I'd love to spend what I do a month now, but get a load more 'free' books on top of that. You've gotta a good 'lie' to live! :)

I'm fighting a losing battle, lol. I try every month to stick to $xx.xx but you are right, there's just one more trade, one more cool looking issue, etc. At the moment I am fairly responsible. My main priority is my four month old son so that makes sticking to the budget a little easier!

Anyone looking at picking up Booms Deathmatch? Only $1 for you guys in the states £1.35 for us in the UK. Looks pretty fun. For that price it's got to be worth a try...
