Usually since most current comics I read in trade only. I wait till there is $50 worth of trades I want make an order from IST and read the trades in a few days. That happened about 5 times a year. Now I do buy a bunch of back issues. Valiant stuff gets put on the top of the stack, then the rest get stacked according to how much the cover attracts my interest.
Back when I was still living in Texas I had my own bathroom which had a magazine rack stocked with trades, comics and magazines. But now I have to share the bathroom so I sadly don't have my reading rack.
My reading is largely guilt-driven these days. When my physical to-read pile is taller than my son or my digital pile is using up all the space on my iPad then I tend to launch into a reading spree.
I go through the stack and then put them in piles of what I want to read first and get all the issues in order if I have multiple from the same title. Then I read away...when I can. I also keep a mental not of what I put on the bottum of the stack. That is telling me that I may not want to get that title anyone. :)

I keep a small drawstring backpack thingy filled with 60 or so comics I haven't read. Usually leave it in the car and when I know I am gonna have to wait somewhere I bring some issues in.
I've decided to put Talon aside until I've got the two new court of owls trades coming out next year. I normally put aside mini series until they're complete, but I'll also do this with Talon as its so closely knit with the Batman storyline.
I generally read all my new ones by Thursday when I am off if not I will read a few a day as for reading order I go out of my way to nt know the order they go into the bag from my LCS and take them out one at a time.
I usually read 2 comics a day on mon-thurs, 3 on fri, and 4 on sat & sun, for a total of about 20 a week. That translates to around 50 floppies and 6 TPBs a month.

Dear god...I might actually like it.
And hey, only five months behind!
I tend to read the G.I. Joe books in a clump. Books that ship twice in one month I try to read back to back.
