Star Wars Episode 7 is targeted for release in 2015, with more feature films expected to continue the Star Wars saga and grow the franchise well into the future.
Any plot ideas? Thrawn? Yuzhan Vong? Those Star Wars comic that happen a lot later on?
They really can't get the whole cast of 4-6 and can they? So must likely we are going to be looking at new actors replacing the original cast.... I'm not sure I'm in favor of this idea too much, whoever plays Luke or Han will always be subpar to Hamil and Ford.

Well, in my perfect world Episode VII would be Heir to the Empire. I doubt they'll do the books but I'd still like to see some expanded universe characters(like Thrawn) included.
Should George Lucas be kept in the director's chair? I hope not! So, let he speculating begin:
If you were Disney who would you want to helm the next film:
Chris Nolan Kevin Smith Bryan Singer Peter Jackson Steven Spielberg Quentin Tarrentino Sam Mendes Woody Allen
Maybe they will go the 007 route and go for someone with a lower profile.
Tarantino and Smith are clearly the obvious choices.
As much as I'm sure I'm gonna bitch and moan about this in the coming year(s), I can't deny at some point I'm going to get very excited about this, because IT'S STAR WARS IS WHY! But for now I say this much: Face, I assume you are acquainted with palm.

In my opinion they need to stick to the Expanded Universe timeline, anything that goes against that would be pretty bad, due to all of the continuity they have amassed over the years.
Yeah, that sort of goes along with my question about the sale price. Does it include merchandising rights? If it includes all of the above then I think 4 billion is too low.
(I wonder if they will go ahead and pick up Dukes of Hazzard, Ghostbusters, and The Goonies, so that the treasure pile of my childhood will be complete).
I would imagine it is a smart buy, given how hard Disney has been working on surrounding the childhoods of boys they way they have girls.

Do we have a thread about this?

Pretty stoked about the idea of a Star Wars 7 without Lucas at the helm. In fact, I almost wish they'd reboot the series on film.

I guess Jedi are the new pirates.
