Wow! What a crazy situation unfolding in Watertown Massachusetts. One MIT campus police officer dead, another police officer is in critical condition. The bomber suspects fled in a hijacked vehicle with a hostage. That hostage was released. Police pursued the vehicle. The bombing suspects threw explosives at police. One bomber suspect was shot by police and is in custody (conflicting reports as to whether or not he's still alive), and another is still on the loose. I just hope this ends without any more loss of innocent life.
At this point the one suspect is dead and the other is still on the run. They've been identified as brothers from Chechnya (I just know that I'm screwing up the spelling) and have had military training. So they are international terrorists after all, but not from where we might have been expecting them to be from.
I'm sick and tired of all this violence on the news Therefore I've decided to refrain from watching any more CNN tonight. I need some comfort food - soup, or something along that line. Maybe a movie and some popcorn afterward. I'm leaning toward DREDD.
Also Friday, a report from Russian television cited the men’s mother as saying her older son had previously been interviewed by the FBI because of his interest in radical Islamic teachings. The FBI confirmed that agents in Boston had interviewed the elder Tsarnaev in 2011, on behalf of an unspecified foreign government that suspected he had ties to a terrorist organization. But the FBI found nothing warranting further investigation.
I always hate hearing things like this. If only there had been something to nail him on earlier.

CNN seems to be bashing the FBI about that too. Its amazing, if the brother was let go, then obviously there wasn't enough to pursue. If the FBI would've been shadowing him any way AND he never did anything then it'd be profiling & police harassment. No winning for law enforcement :(

This thing's definitely headed for its climax.

What was even more surprising was the twitter response by FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski.
"David Ortiz spoke from the heart at today's Red Sox game. I stand with Big Papi and the people of Boston - Julius,"
~FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski.
Ortiz may have dodged a FCC bullet, but MLB may still opt to fine him.
Of course, given that this is America's favorite pastime, there's already a t-shit.
