Just thinking out loud here... If anyone had told me 5-10 years ago that I would be more excited for a freaking Ant-man movie than a Batman/Superman one, I'd've lost my mind.

Agreed. The world as we know it has gone off the rails.

As bad as Snyder is, he's at least released a couple of decent movies. The Ant Man director is best known for Bring It On and The Break-up. And hasn't released a movie since 2008. It's going to be a real test of the power of Marvel Studios, that's for sure.
Surprise. How lovely that Marvel has managed to sweep under the rug all of their director shuffling for this movie. I'd be much more excited for Ant Man if it was the movie it COULD'VE been under Wright, not the generic insert Marvel formula we're going to get. But sure - whatever makes you'all not "hate" DC right? HAHA

From what I understand, Edgar Wright resisted including any of the expected connective tissue to the rest of the MCU in his story. The entire tale was tongue in cheek with no regard to take itself seriously on any level. Ultimately, that isn't what Marvel wanted going forward and they parted ways.
With their latest hit (Avengers 2) director, Joss Whedon, explicitly referencing the Wright script just a week or so ago, I wouldn't exactly say that Marvel is sweeping it under the rug that they changed directors, but your mileage may vary. I'd actually expect DC fans would prefer the serious 'generic insert' formula, based on what I've seen from Zac Snyder.

To be fair-- when it is time to promote the Wonder Woman movie, do you think WB will go out of their way to remind everyone of the various false starts, and the writer and director changes on that one?
I mean, you can't fault the PR people with a movie to sell to try to get everyone to focus on the movie that actually got made and will be selling tickets rather than the one that didn't, right? That's not a cover up. That's their job.
Besides, they can trust the Internet will make sure to remind everyone.
EDIT-- That said, I would personally be more excited for the Ant-Man movie if it was still Wright. But, given Marvel's track record so far, I will give the one that made a chance, eventually. But maybe not get-there-opening-weekend like I would have for Wright.

zing!
Just because someone is a DC fan doesn't mean they are a fan of DC's movie directions. I actually get that Marvel had disagreements with Wright, but they replaced him with someone who has 0 good movies to his credit and hasn't even released one in 8 years, so I'd say they replaced him with a shill.
Also, I'm not sure why you hire Wright and then don't respect his creative choices. You wouldn't tell Picasso to make the faces straight.
I'm nearly certain that Wright's take on Ant-Man preceded all of the Marvel Universe building. He approached Marvel with his ideas and they liked them. As the MCU developed and grew, their priorities shifted.
And as far as director's that haven't worked in a while, the last thing from George Miller, the director of the new Mad Max movie. was Babe: Pig in the City, I think. Also of note, that same director had a Justice League movie ready to go back in 2007 and it fell apart (a documentary is being made about that). And didn't Jon Favrreau direct Iron Man? I wouldn't call those guys "shills", would you?
I think DC ought to consider hiring a spokesperson for the movies, someone like Kevin Feige, and tell these random execs like Silverman to sit down and keep quiet.
"Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before."
Thinking that EW is going to be the high point of cover craft is anyone's first mistake. Haha. :)) What WOULD be interesting, is to see a video of the actual photoshoot for the individuals. That would be great fun.
I'm honestly a little surprised EW still exists. The only time I hear about it is when someone posts a cover image like this. It's still never enough to make me click through and read an article, much less actually buy a copy of the magazine.

@-)
I like Chris Pine... I've seen his name brought up for Hal Jordan, but this works, too.
Also.... Are you secretly the Joker? :p

Maybe Superman will be the one they deserve?
Not the "do you bleed?" sentiment, though.
Also, Batman shouldn't "fear the actions off--". He should be preparing ....just in case. ;)
batfleck looking creepy in this picture!
And an article about the cover.
