    THE PLANETARY OMNIBUS HC
    CREATURE COMMANDOS TP
  • So... about half the books are tied to Batman Year Zero, and the other half are tied to Forever Evil?

Makes me all the happier I dropped the main DCU books in favor of a few non-New52 titles...

    Wonder Woman #25
    World's Finest #17
    Harley Quinn #0
    Nightwing TP vol 3
    Fables TP vol 19

Second month in a row for a small amount of DC trades for me. If the other companies do not solicit a lot of trades i want, i may (try to) get the Jim Lee Wonder Woman statue. Hopefully the allocation numbers work in my favor for once.

I agree. He made an observation about the solicitations that is hard to ignore.

I generally hate the critiquing of the voting buttons because they are there and we can use them at will. That said commenting on the Forever Evil and Batman Year Zero is not out of bounds or off topic. As someone who purchases very little I hate the lists of 100s of dollars worth of stuff and don't mind discussion. In other posts I have commented how intolerant some have become. Perfect example in a nutshell.

And before I'm marked Off Topic who wants to see young Luke Fox fighting Batman Rogues before Batman. Who wants Flash as Batman's origin. DC is straining more than usual here.

    The Teen Titans Trade
    The Fables Trade

Thanks, DC! The more you stink it up, the less money I have to spend! :) :(
  • I'm down to almost nothing from DC, compared to what I'd been getting. When the New52 started, I began with getting them all -- just to see what was being served up to us. Now, I'm down to a handful: All-Star Western, Worlds' Finest, Earth 2, The Green Team and The Movement. Only one of these is even part of the original 52, and one of these (Earth 2) may wind up getting dropped now that James Robinson is gone -- I've put it on a 'wait and see' status.

Otherwise, I'm getting titles like Astro City, Batman Beyond Universe, Smallville: Season 11 and Adventures Of Superman.

As with just about every month this year, some great looking #1s out of Image. I'm excited for this one in particular, by the Wasteland team of Johnston and Mitten:
UMBRAL #1 — GEM OF THE MONTH
    story ANTONY JOHNSTON
    art / cover CHRISTOPHER MITTEN
    NOVEMBER 13
    40 PAGES / FC / M
    $2.99
    "THE DAY DAWNED TWICE"
A NEW DARK FANTASY FROM THE CREATORS OF WASTELAND! The young thief called Rascal witnesses the horrific murder of the royal family — now the world's dark legends will be relived, and only Rascal even knows it's happening!
Master worldbuilder ANTONY JOHNSTON (Dead Space, Daredevil) and his Wasteland co-creator CHRISTOPHER MITTEN (Batman, Criminal Macabre) bring you a new fantasy world rich in mythology, history, and blood! Extra-long first issue for the regular price of $2.99!

It does seem that the WB "Add Batman" approach is being taken with a lot of the titles from DC this month. Glad that Wonder Woman continues on with its own story, though. I don't think there has been a tie-in issue of that series yet. So that is just one of a number of exceptions to the crossovers this month.

All of those batman year one tie ins must be really annoying for some. That'll be two months in quick succession of interrupted story for some titles.

Other then my usual DC haul I think I'll get the Batman/Judge Dredd tpb.

Also like the sound of Umbral and

    STRANGEWAYS #1
    story ALEX LINK
    art RILEY ROSSMO
    cover A RILEY ROSSMO
    cover B ROC UPCHURCH
    NOVEMBER 6
    32 PAGES / FC / M
    $3.50
When shock-induced visions drive a detective specializing in the paranormal to a small town in South Dakota, he finds himself up against flesh-hungry bog-men, his ex-girlfriend, their mutual ex-girlfriend (did we mention she’s a werewolf?), and a demon that’s stolen his arsenal of psychedelics. Then things start to get weird. We live in strange times. They call for strange ways!

Standard Image offering me more interesting number ones to buy!

The amount of Zero Year tie-ins are blowing my mind. I was not expecting it to go beyond the bat family of titles. the zero year may be to similar to zero issues except for the main bat family.

I just looked at the single issues in the DC section. Normally I just skip them, but I thought Year Zero was just going to be in the Batman (or Detective I can't remember which one is the main book for Year Zero). I can't believe how many titles are tied into it.

A lot of what Image is puttingout sounds very interesting.

Synder's Batman is the main book for Batman Year Zero but like something good to eat they made extra helpings in other DC titles.

  • None for me, thanks; I'm on a diet.

No love for Scooby-Doo Team-Up #1? It's the Dynamic Duo and Mystery, Inc., together again at last! Well, I'm buying it, anyway. :D

I'm also curious to check out Harley Quinn #0, though I have to admit that I'm probably being influenced a bit by that Amanda Conner cover with Harley dressed as a derby girl. I'm not made of stone, you guys.

And I am all over that Creature Commandos TPB. Those stories are awesomely nuts, and though you used to see Weird War Tales back issues in the cheap bins all the time, that's not often the case anymore. And this looks like every one of the CCs' stories from that book, too.

The Superman Vs. Mongul TPB looks interesting, too. Superman Annual #11 ("For the Man Who Has Everything") is a classic, of course, but what I've read of the other stories in this book (all DC Comics Presents issues) were all good, too.

And the Planetary Omnibus can't help but be awesome, but I'm probably going to have to wait for a major sale for that to be affordable, unfortunately.

Lots of good stuff this month. A little too much with all the double shipping...but that's the new norm I guess.

Between Cataclysm and Fantatic Four, Mark Bagley has 3 books out this month as the artist and as far as I know Fantastic Four has shipped at least one issue per month since the relaunch. That dude should teach a class.

Preaching to the choir. I hope eventually they will stop they are really alienating their fanbase.
