September Previews - What Looks Good?

Wow, big month! Here's what I'd get (above and beyond my usual pull list stuff) if I could afford to get everything that looks interesting:

NEVER ENDING #1 (OF 3)
SHERLOCK HOLMES & VAMPIRES OF LONDON HC
CREATURE COMMANDOS TP - My favorite feature from the final few years of Weird War Tales
HARLEY QUINN #0 - Jimmy and Amanda working on this earn it a look.
SCOOBY DOO TEAM UP #1 - Scooby and Batman, together again? I'm not made of stone here, people.
RED SONJA #5 STEPHANIE BUSCEMA SUBSCRIPTION VAR
MR PEABODY & SHERMAN #1 (OF 4) - Is there a movie coming out? I hadn't realized, but I'll probably check it out.
ROCKET GIRL #2
IMMORTAL IRON FIST COMPLETE COLLECTION TP VOL 01
MINI MARVELS TP COMPLETE COLLECTION - My son loved G-Man, so I figured he might get a kick out of this.
LEGACY O/T CRUSADERS TP - Reprints the 80s Red Circle material, which was kinda fun as I recall.
DOCTOR WHO ACE REMEMBRANCE OT DALEKS AF - More than I want to pay for an action figure, but Ace is, well... ACE!

Here is my order. A good size order but the last two months have been pretty small.

    Fairest #21
    Harley Quinn #0
    Star Wars #11
    Wonder Woman #25
    Worlds Finest #17
    Fables TP vol 19
    Nightwing TP vol 3
    Walking Dead TP vol 19
    Daredevil HC vol 6
    Powers Bureau TP vol 1
Thor by Simonson TP vol 3
Avengers Epic Collection TP vol 1
    Avengers Absolute Vision TP
Immortal Iron Fist complete collection TP vol 1
Golden Age Capt America Omnibus Hc vol 1

  • Not specifically on my order, but things I find of interest, some little overlooked treasures:

Showcase Presents: Strange Adventures, vol 2 -- because I have a fondness for that old title.
Superman vs Mongul sc -- the classic original clashes by Jim Starlin, plus the classic oft-reprinted Alan Moore & Dave Gibbons story.
Batman Automobilia Figure Collector's Magazines -- featuring models of the Batmobile from different eras. I think this is pretty cool and hope they do more of these (I suspect they have been and I've only just noticed), and I only wish I could afford to get these.
Alter Ego #122 -- A special farewell to the late, lamented Comics Buyer's Guide issue.
Jack Kirby Collector #62 -- A look at Kirby's days at DC during the early 70's.
Dr Sheldon Cooper Action Figure -- Comes with a vintage Batman t-shirt.
Dr Who: Light At The End Audio CD -- Essentially, "The Eight Doctors". The first eight incarnations of the Doctor are reunited for a special 50th anniversary audio adventure. (I can only presume the first three Doctors are represented by fill-in actors, but the rest are the original actors.)
Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas DVD -- For the Muppet completists, and for those who just love heart-warming Christmas stories, fun tunes, and the River Bottom Nightmare Band.

I have to say I was kinda disappointed by a couple of promising items from DC: the aaction figures for the Crime Syndicate (based on David Finch's drawings for Forever Evil, when they really should have been based on the original Mike Sekowsky designs) and the DC Chess Figures (which are based on the current New52 designs instead of the classic pre-Flashpoint costumes).

I have a pretty healthy order this month but I'll likely cull some of it because finances are getting tight around casa Torchsong:

    Trades
Accident Man (Titan) - Just sounds like the right blend of humor, sex and action and with Pat Mills at the helm hopefully it'll be good.
Fables: Snow White - I'm too far in to stop now. :)
    Sex V 1 - It's $4.99. I'll give it a day in court.
Teen Titans V3 - So much an underdog book. I really enjoy this series.

    Manga
Yotsuba V 12 - Still pound for pound the best value for your manga-reading dollar
Sacred Blacksmith V3 - Enjoying this series as well
Judge V 2 - May drop if the first volume (just showed up in my DCBS box) doesn't thrill me.

    Toys n Stuff
Supergirl statue - The price is right even though I need another Supergirl statue like I need a hole in my head. It's Kotobukiya, though...so it'll be good.
    Davros Bobblehead -
Davros statue/figure - Wife is a Davros nut...(Dr. Who villain)...so it may be a "pick one of these" moment to keep costs down.

They already did the classics. It absolutely should be the New 52 designs. Just another 'notmuhDC' dig.

IDW is reissuing Sam Keith's the Maxx series. Matt Wagner's Doctor Mid-Nite trade. Planetary Omnibus. And new Black Coat from Ape Entertainment standout.

I forgot to mention the Maxx reissue. I bang the Maxx drum everytime a I want X omnibused.
I have all the wildstorm trades, however I will dump those like month old leftovers for an oversized remastered Maxx collection.

Did they!? I had completely missed those. Not that I can afford them anyway, but I do think that's cool. (Have to keep my eyes open for them...)
