A few of things I'm unapologetic for:

I've really enjoyed Otto as Peter, even though I would prefer Peter--it's a mainline superhero comic book, so it always returns to status quo eventually. If you don't know that by now, I don't think anything will help.

I love Humbeto Ramos' art, especially on Spider-Man.

I love McFarlane's thick, knotty webbing.

I've enjoyed Slott's run and I think it will go down as one of Spider-Man's better runs.

    It's okay...

I can only comment on the webbing bit, as I have not read any SSM since issue 1, nor Slott's build up to 700.

I like the thick webbing. It always made more sense to me then the spider-web pattern that preceded it. Spiders have to make that design with threads. How would the web shooters know to leave gaps in the stream?

How does a radioactive spider impart proportional spider abilities to a teenage boy? :-??

I'm not saying that you're wrong, just that we should not forget exactly what we're talking about.

The best scene of Spider-Man 3.

I laughed so much at Spidey Night Fever! Its was Jazz-Hands Spidey I didn't like. Went to the well one time too many for me. Just like much of that movie. Three villains, three dance scenes, and three scenes with non-acting bratty kids. That was a very good movie 40 minutes in and then it hit the wall.

Anyone here ever seen any decent fan-edits of SM3? Here's one I've been meaning to download and watch:

I haven't forgotten. Batman & the Punisher are probably 2 of the most reality based characters...and Batman wears a cape, which is not practical in a fight!

Besides, why wouldn't Pete get the ability to create organic webbing?

Wasn't the early webbing a strand with a thick, sticky end?

What if this cover is a fake-out and it's still Otto deciding to be less of a prick? He gets through the Goblin King storyline and decides to try being Amazing instead of Superior? Why show the face? They could have just showed the original red and blue and I would have thought it was Peter.

I'm looking forward to this but not surprised by it. I'm curious to see how Peter gets his body back.

Those are good points. Unfortunately, unless this is Otto's "come to Jesus" moment, Otto can't help being Otto.

I doubt it's still Otto. You got a movie coming out with Peter Parker as Spider-Man. Marvel understands the importance of having Peter Parker as Spider-Man for the first issue of this relaunch. I have to admit, that I'll be picking it up and checking it out.

Remember when Peter had 2 titles while Ben Reilly had the other 2? Maybe Pete & Otto are fighting for the same body, so ASM has Pete in control while SSM has Otto.

How long before ASM#1 (vol. 3) comes out before an Otto clone body is hinted at?!

Read #25 and I guess Peter is going to be back but still curious if Otto stays. Not feeling the Goblin War though.

A- it features no less than 5 of those quaint wooden water towers

Only five water towers? It’s not like they’ve all been bricked up yet. There are tons of water towers in this recent photo of Lower Manhattan.

I will agree with you on B, though. C is debatable. I mean, he swinging through New York. There have to be buildings. And with them all colored gray, the red and blue of Peter pop out just fine.

Looking out my office window in Greenwich Village right now and I can see 6 water towers on 2 buildings, not that I ever noticed it before. Somehow they do look silly in that cover though. I can't explain it.
