Back in the office after my couple of days in LA, and trying to get caught up on work. My quick 2 cent re-cap (no pun intended);
Obviously biased in my love for "Captain America - Winter Soldier", but it was absolutely fantastic. Chris Evans has really become Captain America, I thought he produced a great performance, more than the first film and the Avengers, he was totally believable as Cap. The character development between Evans and Scarlett Johansson was well done, and Anthony Mackie steals the show as the Falcon. And we get lots more of Robert Redford than I was expecting (which was a good thing). Non-stop action, lots of comic-nerd moments, and the effects are killer (with the exception of the landings and take-offs for the Falcon - ugh). Even the end credit sequence was top notch... and the "bonus" clips (2), had me wanting the next batch of movies to be released as soon as possible.
Far superior to the recent "Thor - Dark World".
However, the movie took a back seat to the "event"; I can honestly say that was the most surreal thing I have ever experienced. Walking down the red carpet in the middle of Hollywood boulevard while thousands of people lost their minds cheering for the film's stars all around was crazy. The cast of Agents of Shield were also there (it will be interesting to see how The Winter Soldier story effects their show). On more than one occasion I was yelled at by paparazzi to get the hell out of the shot. And the after party was even more ridiculous... almost gagged on my drink when I saw my wife chatting at the buffet with Chloe Bennet. Can't thank my brother enough for inviting us to the premier.
okay just bought our tickets for opening night of Captain America. IF anybody wants to join our pre-wedding festivities we'll be at the Wehrenberg on Wiley Dr. in Bloomington, IL at the 9pm show on 04/03/14. 24 hours later we will be married! Huzzah!

Not sure that I'll make it on the 3rd but my two oldest kids are supposed to be taking me on the 4th to celebrate my birthday.
Saw the movie yesterday. Aren't we Brits lucky getting it a few days before you. So, no spoilers, but I enjoyed this movie. Think you could trim 10mins off, but still, good stuff.
