NEW TOM VS THE JLA!!!

So I always keep a Tom vs comics feed open on my itunes in case Tom slides a new episode in. Today is that day.

Tom vs. the JLA #130. If you are longtime listeners of Tom Katers you may remember about 7 or 8 years ago Tom started his Tom vs. the JLA podcast (now Tom vs. Comics) at JLA #163 (He has explains why). Tom vs. comics is one of my alltime favorite podcasts. It's also one that you can relisten to and it still holds up.

Tom stopped when he got married and went back to school, then he had a daughter. He talks about it a little in Tom vs. Jimmy Olsen and in the return to Tom vs. the JLA. I've loved Tom since he was just a guest on Around Comics.

Thanks for the recommendation. I gave this a listen this morning and found it very entertaining. I love how he pretty much spends the entire episode mockingly laughing at the absurdity of the issue. Also loved his take on Hawkman being a dick ("Maybe it's not just him. Maybe all Thanagarians are basically dicks.")

On another note, I hope he sticks with it for awhile and puts out some more JLA episodes. These issues are right in my wheelhouse. While I don't have issue #130, I do have most of the the next 30 or 40 issues or so from that run.

One thing you'll notice about tom is that he absolutely loves silver age DC. Go back and listen to his early episodes It takes about half of the JLA for him to really get in his groove.

I'd recommend trying his most recent Tom vs. Jimmy Olsen.

Thanks for the heads up. I removed Tom vs. from my iTunes since it seemed like he'd pod-faded. His last episode was released in May '13.

Thanks for the heads up. That was a fun one. Secret Society of Super-Villains was one my absolute faves when I was a kid. Looking forward to hearing more on the rest of the series. And yes, I've taken his advice and lowered my "frequency expectation level."

Even hotter fire. Tom is going weekly twice weekly!
He has setup a patreon account where all the proceeds are going to the Southern Poverty Law Center. Maybe something good did happen with this election cycle.
