The 2015 Reading Thread - January

Some of us had real fun keeping track of what we read all through last year, so let's see how long we can keep it going this year. I'm upping the game for myself - since I read so few single issues, I'm going to start logging them as well!

Simply put, log what you read here (just come back and edit your message as you add to your list). If something really stands out, mark it as a favorite. From that list, pick one (Highlander-style) to be the "best" book of that month. At the end of the year, if you keep it up, you'll have 12 books that should be permanent additions to your bookshelf or collection!

So let's go!

January Books:
Angela: Asgard's Assasin #1 (Marvel)
Spider-Woman #1 (Marvel)
Guardians of the Galaxy: Dissassembled HC (Marvel)

I've had them in my books for a while to read. I seem to buy a lot of books when they're on sale and then some take me forever to read them. I loved the series. I wish I had the other ones, but they haven't gone on sale yet. They were the perfect compliment to films and really felt like a continuation of them. I could "hear" each of the character's voices as I read. It is one of the best adaptations (and very underrated! I haven't heard anyone really talking about it!) of an existing property I've ever read.

My thoughts exactly. The last couple volumes are my favorite. The Mass Hysteria storyline that I fell could have been the perfect Ghostbusters 3 movie. I'm sure you'll enjoy it when u can get them.

    Comics Read in January

TMNT Vol 4-Read the entire series this month. Spent a long time tracking down each issue. And it was worth it.

Every other comic has been a trade and I have covered in my Reading CHallenge thread.

Does anyone else read digital comics 2x/3x faster than paper comics? I've reread Thanos, Drax, and the entire Annihilation event super quickly. I forgot how much the last 6 issues of Thanos tied into Annihilation. The first 6 issues ties in a little, bt the last 6 are on Kyln.
  • Just re-read the entire run of ROM all 75 issues plus the four annuals!

Alright. I was ever so politely reminded by @Torchsong that I wanted to participate in this thingamajig this year and I plumb forgot. Then when I DID remember, I was all, "Well how the hell am I supposed to remember what actually came out in January?"

Then, this morning, a breakthrough! I take FOREVER to throw away my copies of PREVIEWS. Why not just grab the old PREVIEWS and see what came out and what I read?

    GENIUS.

So, with apologies to @fredzilla for copying his format, here we go

I think I copied most of the format from someone else and then made any necessary changes to my own list. So steal away, friend. It's all good.
