http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=58242"IDW Publishing announced this morning that it has acquired Top Shelf Productions, the Georgia-based publisher of such graphic novels as "From Hell," "Blankets," "Essex County Trilogy" and "March." The terms of the agreement weren't disclosed.
Top Shelf will become an imprint of IDW, with co-founder and publisher Chris Staros serving as editor-in-chief. It will remain headquartered in Marietta, Georgia."

And this is picky, but CBR probably should have pointed out more things that Top Shelf was the original publisher of in identifying it (and there are so many great titles to pick from). They are only the latest publisher of From Hell as a collected edition. (But, again, that is a minor point.)
More importantly, IDW has always seemed to be a place with deep pockets, so if this helps keep Staros and his folks making books, and I would guess it does, then great news.
As for the annual sale, I would guess it's a thing of the past now, but you never know.
