Didnt like my foil stamp choice on my Tales of Gotham Central, so I decided to make some new book covers.../>
Oh NICE! I'm two issues short of completing my run. I'm dying to get it bound so I can read it all for the first time. Would you be able to share some of those images you used?
Sure, but they were all readily available via a google image search... The "Gotham Central" on the spine was pulled from a high res image of the cover of the HC.
Just got New Books in from H&R. Beautiful work as usual. First up one of my favorites, Mutant X.
I labeled vol 1"I Remember dying" and vol 2 "I remember living" Because the series has kind of a revolving door of artists I only credited Mackie on the cover. Maroon imitation leather and copper lettering.
Next up is Identity Crisis plus Tie Ins. This was done in black imitation leather with gold lettering.
I included IC 7-1 plus Flash 214-217 (Might have to re-purchase these issues when I do my Geoff Johns Flash bind). I also included "Crisis of Concience" from JLA 115-119. this is going to lead perfectly into my Infinite Crisis bind which is next on the list.
The resaon I credited Johns on the cover of the Identity Crisis bind is that he wrote all of the tie ins that I included. I thought about putting in Firestorm issue 6, but I thought it might muck up the flow. It is a story best saved for a Firestorm bind sometime in the future.
Fantastic work. they were very helpful. I originally sent it out with different cover information but changed my mind about a week later. I called and spoke with a fellow by the name of...I want to say Ron but I could be wrong. He was happy to locate my order forms and give little suggestions about what he thought would be good. He even offered to move them to the front of the queue in case I needed them for a convention of something. I declined as I was in no real hurry, but a very nice offer.
Got some books back from Herring & Robinson. They all came out really nice, H&R is way more reliable than Houchen or that one before it in Texas. I've gotten maybe 25 binds though H&R now and not one has had a flaw. In comparison the past two seemed to have flaws in almost every order (2 books with matching titles not lined up the same, weird stains, foil on die stamps peeling)
If anyone is wondering, it's the 1988 Manhunter, the 1980 Moon Knight and the 1984 Atari Force, I thought about adding the original mini series but they are literally "mini" in size so it would have looked terrible to bind the original 5 issues that came with the Atari games.
Got some more sketches in some of my binds and a lot of autographs. Here are a few of the best ones. Man Thing by Tone Rodriguez in my Marvel Comics Presents vol 1
Dart by Drew Johnson in my Atari Force bind
And Robot Man by Tim Vigil in my Grant Morrison Doom Partol vol 1
Hey guys, not sure if this is the best place to put this, but I am wanting to do a slipcase hardcover as a giving tier for my SubCulture Omnibus kickstarter campaign, and wanted to get a recommendation on who can do a slipcase, and roughly what cost that would add to the project.
I've lent out a few volumes as you can see be the dust jackets on top of the Batman books. The dining table is also in the way so I can't get a picture of the last two rows of the shelves.
Geez since the old forums went down I've lost my steam with the binding/mapping. Corwin you are ridiculous man. I'm going to have to get my motivation up and get back into it.

Are those tomes easy to handle? I wonder how it is to actually hold one of those and be reading them.
I really need to get off my ass and and design custom covers and have my Groo comics bound.
Bry
And one by Ryan Sook in my Spectre bind
I do like my spine layout if I do say so myself...

Older bind I forgot to post...
More to come soon1
Then I kind of went overboard with the variants....

AvX and Hickman's F4
Got eight more binds in (these plus 4 more X-Men binds)...will take more pics after I get back from Heroes Con!
