Chris and Murd take it to the streets in this triple-strength pseudo-Spotlight championing three of the Marvel Universe's finest fighters: Luke Cage, Power Man; Iron Fist, the Living Weapon; and Shang-Chi, Master of Kung Fu! Who are they? Where do they come from? And what should you know about them before they (or two of them, at least) burst onto your view-screen in the coming year? Quit asking questions, Frantic Ones; take ACTION, and find out! (2:08:00)

Chris ... you won't be surprised to learn that the Planet of the Apes series you alluded to that had the "Davy Crockett" character ("Terror on the Planet of the Apes") in addition to being drawn by Jim Ploog, was actually written by ... (Wait for it!) ... Doug Moench. It's one of my favorite series of all-time. Tracked them all down on eBay a few years back and reread them from time to time. The Davy Crockett guy btw ... Gunpowder Julius. :-)
Fascinating stuff about Marvel losing the rights to Fu Manchu and the other pulp characters.
Nice work, boys. Can't wait to listen to the rest!
PS - Leading contender for best comment of the podcast:
Murd: "Oh, I nearly forgot ... Shang-Chi had a pet monkey!"
And I still hear that cricket, so he's officially the CGS mascot now and not just a random appearance.
I may only need 3.
Thanks Adam and Chris for going the distance and keeping episodes coming. I look forward to several more spotlights as these are definitely my favorite episodes. Chris and Adam are very well suited for these and I get very excited when I see a new one in the podcast feed. Thanks again.
And with all DUE respect, May I recommend either of the following resources to Mr. Eberle?

MARVEL, PLEASE CAST AN ASIAN AMERICAN IRON FIST
Shang-Chi and Iron Fists used to be favorites of mine when I began reading comics in the mid 70s, so this was a trip down memory lane for me.
I just don't know if they go back and listen to the podcasts once they are bagged and if not, they may never know of the issue unless we speak on it.
I still feel like a jerk, however :-/
But I am so thankful for what they do ... just want it to sound as great as they are !! I am sure that is what we all want
;-)
Anyone on these forums that's offering ANY kind of critique is hopefully doing it out of love and a sincere desire for the show to be the very best it can be. Let's face it, every podcast episode is going to be somebody's first time listening. I hope the CGS crew will take the time to listen and examine and improve. Speaking for myself, we all have room for that.
Thanks again, @wildpigcomics and @Adam_Murdough - I love what you're doing.
Power Man & Iron Fist by the great Bill Sienkiewicz
When things like this come up I always wonder if there is something wrong with me because I never hear what's bothering people. Maybe it's just my selective hearing that's developed over the years by listening to ball games at the lake through AM static.
