Probably those mid to late 60s titles like Metamorpho, Plastic Man, and Hawk & Dove? Maybe Neal Adams, Ditko, and a hipper look?
This ad ran in late 1967, the year Kinney bought DC, and Carmine Infantino was installed as editorial director. In fact, I think it was probably Carmine who drew this ad. And, shortly after his promotion, Carmine brought in Dick Giordano from Charlton, who in turn brought in Steve Ditko, Denny O’Neil, Jim Aparo, Steve Skeates, etc.
