Ant-Man and the Wasp

I know we're a year out from this and people probably aren't keeping tabs on the movie yet. I stumbled upon this and was immediately thrilled.

Goggins is one of my favorite underrated actors in Hollywood. Shane became the most interesting character on the Shield because of him. Some of the prep processes he uses for roles are intriguing. I hope it's a meaty character for him.

I love Goggins. Shane is great, Boyd Crowder is awesome, but I loved he popped up in Son's of Anarchy.

He's great in everything he does. If you haven't watched Vice Principals on HBO its great. Really shows off he can do comedy just as well.

This is awesome news. I was hoping she'd be cast as Janet. I was also hoping Foster would be in the sequel. Weird it's Perry White.

Looks like he'll be playing a villain:

It's interesting that Ant-Man essentially got the Armour Wars plot (along with elements of VS. SHIELD) in the first film, and now gets two more Iron Man villains in the second film.

I guess it fits given that David Michelinie co-created both Lang and Ghost, and co-wrote Armour Wars.

I hope they keep the anti-capitalist vigilante spin for Ghost.

Can’t wait. I just worry the events of this movie will be tainted / dulled because of infinity war. Surely the stakes of this movie will ultimately be rather inconsequential knowing what comes next? Assuming of course the timeline places it just before infinity war... which in my estimation it has to right? Wouldn’t make sense for it to be after.

Yes, the next two MCU movies are timelined in prior to Infinity War. Captain Marvel way prior.

I was a little disappointed by how the Wasp was portrayed -- as your generic serious woman who has to take care of the immature boys. That line, "If you two are finished comparing sizes," while providing a few giggles at first... just seemed so facepalm-worthy in hindsight. It feels like lazy writing at its best. Hope this line gets edited out of the movie.

Yeah capt marvel is set in the 90s apparently. I’m assuming all or at least the majority of it. I predict it will end with her relocating off world to defend against an impending alien threat and or to help another planet with same or similar. Probably ending with Fury giving her the space beeper as a send off for if/when she’s “needed most”.
Being decades prior to infinity war, the stakes in that movie will still have impact and weight. At least significantly more so than ant man imo.

But of course. It HAS to be that way now. There’s only one safe, acceptable and permitted target left to ridicule, disrespect, mock, and stereotype. LoL.

Yeah, with the Ant Man movies so light on impact and weight, the only thing only for them (for me) is its character writing, like how Scott is an ex-con father trying to do his best. So I would rather there be good and creative writing for the characters (especially female characters, so often stereotyped in movies), thus giving me more reasons to watch it.
