If you could only read 5 current titles a month, what would they be?

Here's Mine:
1 - Saga
2 - Southern Bastards
3 - Black Hammer
4 - Lazarus
5 - Paper Girls

    1 - Lazarus
    2 - Black Science
    3 - Aquaman
    4 - X-O Manowar
    5- Black Magick

    This is kind of cheating as Lazarus is going quarterly and Black Magick is not much better schedule-wise.

    In no particular order:

    Beasts of Burden (assuming it could go monthly)
    Saga (assuming it could stay monthly)
    Paper Girls (assuming it could stay monthly)
    Highest House (assuming it could go monthly)
    Ether (assuming it could go monthly)

    Most of my favorite books are either a series of miniseries, or go on periodic hiatuses. And I'm perfectly happy with that. Do what you need to do to maintain standards and all that. But my top five isn't giving me 60 issues a year, more like 36.

    Thanks for playing! I find the same thing with some of my favourite books in that they go on periodic hiatuses or are a series of miniseries (which I'm okay with). Just curious what other forum member's top 5 books are so I can maybe try some new stuff I haven't been reading.

    Great topic. Putting aside minis, my current ongoings (since Mister Miracle is almost done):

    Saga (even though it is on a long break, it is still top of mind)
    Paper Girls
    Stray Bullets
    Batman
    The Wildstorm (though I suppose that is technically a maxi, at 24 issues)

    1. Weekly Shonen Jump (gets you 8+ comics a week, for a month, for less than the price of one US monthly comic).
    2. Immortal Hulk
    3. X-23
    4. Captain America
    5. Exiles

    Great question! I don't assiduously follow many ongoing monthlies anymore, but here are the comics I always buy when they show up:

    Penny Dreadful
    Mage The Hero Denied

    Most of these come in trade form but I order them sight unseen when they become available so hopefully that counts:

    Wonder Woman

    Doctor Aphra

    Supergirl

    Quantum & Woody

    Sex Criminals

    I kept manga out of the mix but there's a ton of titles I could swap out where that's concerned.
