The 2019 Reading Thread - March 2019 - The Who’ll Stop the Rain Edition

Another month, another Reading Thread. Have at it boys and girls!

The Rules
Log everything you've read this year. Just edit your existing post or you (and we) will get confused trying to keep up. At the end of each month, I'll start a new thread and you can pick a "winner" from your favorite books. You can focus on just trades, or just write about the good stuff you've read.

January Winner: Shazam #1 (DC) - Huge bias I know but it was good!
February Winner: Sally the Sleuth (Bedtime Press)

    March Books:
What If? The Complete Edition (Marvel)
Shazam #3 - Story is a bit all over the place but MAN that artwork!
    Supergirl #27
Pandora in the Crimson Shell: Ghost Urn Vol. 11
    Freedom Fighters #3
    Mystery Science Theater 3000 #4
Kino's Journey: The Beautiful World Vol. 1 (Vertical) - FINALLY out in manga form. This sucker is a must-read if you like your sci-fi on the philosophical end of things.
    Exciting Comics #1
Urusei Yatsura Vol. 1 (Viz) - I'm on a Rumiko Takahashi kick. Much worse kicks in life to be on, IMHO.
    One-Pound Gospel Vols. 1-4 (Viz)
Bombshells United Vol. 3 (DC) - Good ending to the series
    Laid-Back Camp Vol. 6
Arakawa Under the Bridge Vol. 5 (Vertical) - This series never takes a break. Top of the stack every time a new volume comes out.
Wonder Woman: Game of the Gods (DC) - The infamous "short-haired" Wonder Woman run by Simonson and Ordway. Still a good read.

    @Bryan

Was this the first time you read Gotham by gaslight? And what did you think about it?

Towards the end of the series it went quarterly and then started reprinting earlier issues. I haven’t read any of it myself, but it’s a John Stanley book, so I would expect it to be quality stuff.

@mwhitt80 it was my first time reading. I enjoyed it a lot. I hadn’t seen much else from Mignola’s pre-hellboy stuff, so that was interesting too. Definitely worth pulling from the dollar bin.

Thanks. I enjoyed it. It looks like there is a reprint collection out there too although I might have more fun digging for the floppies.
