Joe Hill to launch “pop-up” horror line at DC, Hill House

Hill House’s initial offerings will consist of five limited series: Basketful of Heads, written by Hill and illustrated by Leomacs; The Dollhouse Family, written by Mike Carey and illustrated by Peter Gross; The Low, Low Woods, written by Carmen Maria Machado and illustrated by Dani; Daphne Byrne, written by Laura Marks and illustrated by Kelley Jones; and Plunge, written by Hill with an artist to be revealed at a later date. Each comic will also come with two-page installments of a back-up feature called Sea Dogs, written by Hill.

I am excited for this. Particularly Hill’s titles and the Carey / Gross title.

Not much of a horror guy, but after Highest House I will at least try a horror book by the Carey/Gross team.

These boutique lines are what is replacing vertigo. Young animals, I'm not sure bendis's has a name, Sandman U, and now Hill House.

I don't read/like a lot of horror books, but I hope it's successful.

His jinx world stuff I feel is a little different, but it probably should count in this discussion.

I was going through Previews last night, and DC has six or seven lines now. It's a bit excessive.

I heard a lot of conversations on word balloon with dc people that talked about how successful young animals was. Where were the sales at?
