If someone told a 5yo me there’d be a day when an adult me will be sitting with a Sam Adams beer watching Spider-man & His Amazing Friends, he’d first ask “why no Yuengling?” (My dad’s beer of choice), then say that’s a bunch of hooey.
Did the mandatory viewing of the Mandalorian (justified the subscription price alone) and then - because I'm old - actually hopped over to the Nat-Geo section and started watching stuff.
I will admit, those are two movies near the top of my viewing list. I’ve realized I’m less excited about the new content (though I’m still looking forward to it) and more about the stuff in the Disney vault I have access to.
Looks like Disney pussed our and didn’t include the Red Skull episode of Spider-man & his Amazing Friends. They put a disclaimer in front of Lady & the Tramp, they could’ve for that episode also.
Theres a Santa naughty & nice list long of movies & shows from the past that are culturally inappropriate (technically even when they were released) in 2019. I don’t think we should just rewrite history as if they never existed.
So I sat down started looking at the app, watched some X-Men cartoons while I cleaned up the kitchen. Then sat down with a adult beverage or 4 to make a watchlist.
I sort of finished then decided to watch wreck it Ralph. I love that movie.
I hate to say it, but The Mandalorian isn't very good. I've watched every episode and couldn't tell you what it's about.
I'm enjoying it the way I tend to enjoy things outside the Saga, like the animated series, books, and comics. Which is to say, it is fun, it is more Star Wars stuff, or 'what would it be like if Star Wars was this genre instead of that genre' but it's not the real thing. For me, the movies feel like the real thing, and the rest feels like some fun licensed product.
I will admit, though, that as skillfully made and fun to watch as it usually is, so I wouldn't agree that Mandalorian it is not good, but it does feel empty. And I can understand the sense that it is not about anything. It feels very much like each level is a chapter from a very fanservice-minded video game.
So I'm not saying I don't look forward to each new chapter on Fridays, I do. But, I wouldn't want Star Wars to always be like this. I'm hoping the Obi Wan miniseries can feel like it is a little more purpose, but we'll see.
I’m loving nearly every aspect of the series (not a baby Yoda fan). It reminds me a bit of what doing a Mad Max marathon would be like. The Mandalorian is an example of my favorite type of character; a ronin/paladin/errant knight. I love highly skilled characters that don’t belong anywhere anymore and finds people in need of his/her unique skill set. The character demonstrates his/her prowess...then moves into the next situation.
My 6 year old came in as I was watching Chapter 6. When it was over, she asked to watch Chapter 7. When I told her that’s next week, she asked to Chapter 6 again. This was the first time she really sat & watched Star Wars anything.

Yes, but it looks as though it’s not available until 12:01am.
Wake them? No sleep until the launch!
Money well spent.

Off my lawns, the lot of you! :)
Downloaded the app yesterday before work and haven't had a chance to watch. The kids have been showing out the last few days so they are on no TV.
I'm going to grab a bourbon and watch some Apple Dumpling Gang when I get home tonight or maybe some Davey Crockett

I'm excited to show the kids the live action movies.
I decided to take in a little Gargoyles

Wow. The Mandalorian is so good. I can't wait for more new Star Wars and Marvel content.
I watched 3 Caballeros with the kids. They loved it.
I've been watching clone wars

Yeah, she’s a fan of Baby Yoda.
