I have been a fan of the horror genre since seeing the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre at a drive in when I was 3. After it my favorite genres are science fiction,comedy,cult/exploitation and documentaries.

I love film in general. Since there is no "all of the above and any other genre you can think of" all I could pick was "Other".

What they said. Keep me interested and don't gross me out and I'll give just about anything a shot.

I like a lot of different movie genres but I guess if I had to pick one I'd go with Sci Fi.

I like practically anything. Just no westerns. It is a rare western that I enjoy.
I love art films, documentaries, and bad movies. And movies for tween girls.

The only westerns I enjoy are some of the Italian made ones.

I am BIG on Spaghetti Westerns lately. Just watched the first (legit) Trinity movie, and while I enjoyed it, it was the beginning of the end for the genre.

I plan on watching a bunch of the Django films sometime between now and December.

There are around 400 Spaghetti Westerns out there. Of those I have over 250 in my collection. European Westerns are my field of expertise :-B

I've read dozens of books on the subject, met some of the makers, been at the filming locations (there aren't many...) and back in 1979 made my own epic Western on Super 8... :D

    The more one knows about this genre the more one is fascinated. The variety is stunning. It's not just good vs. evil. Some are highly political, others are parodies. There have been gay heros and strong female characters long before other movie countries dared to show. Sure there are also quite a few turds....but even those are entertaining 8-}

Same here...hopeful I get to see the legit ones. I also am going through the Sartana movies. What a great character! Almost a Spectre type...

I plan on watching a bunch of the Django films sometime between now and December.

Due to the enormous success of the original 1966 "Django" by Sergio Corbucci and with Franco Nero in the title role, in the following years 55 (!) movies carried the name Django in the title - only 3 of those had some connection to the original.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8Ge2hmSTbo

    Seek out:

"Preparati la bara!" (aka Django sees red, Django prepare a coffin, Viva Django!) made in 1968 by Ferdinando Baldi and Terence Hill in the title role

    complete movie :

"Django il bastardo" (aka Django the bastard, Django the avenger, The strangers gundown) made in 1969 by Sergio Garrone and Anthony Steffen in the title role.

    complete movie :

"Django 2: il grande ritorno" The only (!) official sequel to Django was made in 1987 - and is not considered to be a Spaghetti Western. But thanks to Franco Nero it's still quite entertaining.

    complete movie:

The quality on youtube varies - if you have a chance seek out those movies on DVD - there are some great copies out there (region free player required)

oh...and of course I've seen the other 50+ "Django" movies - many are good fun, but other than the title not related at all.

The remake of 3:10 To Yuma was really really good. Oh, and of course True Grit was a great remake as well. The Westerns from the last few years have been pretty good I think.

Agreed - and let's not forget the awesome DEADWOOD. TV needs more Westerns like that.

I chose "other" (and by "other" I mean "fantasy").
Fantasy films are far and few between, and rarely are they done well, which is probably why I find the genre so appealing.

I'm all about a really good documentary. "Johnny Berlin" being one of my favorites ever. Outside of that (and porn) I'd have to say an excellent indie film. "Pi" is atop my personal top 10 list.

Alright, who flagged me!?! :) Sure, I deserved it but still... :)

Anyhoo, the serious answer is...I have no answer! I like movies in general - bad ones, good ones, romances, sci-fi shooters, westerns, foreign films, films that make you think, films that speak to my baser nature...so I ended up putting "other". I really couldn't settle on just one type of movie.

I picked sci fi but really if there is a compelling story about real characters then the setting is irrelevant. The zombies on the walking dead for example are just an excuse to put a small group of people under intense pressure and turn up the heat.

The remake of True Grit,to me,was so much better than the original. Mainly cause, and I know I will catch some shit for this,I hate John Wayne.

LOL I would say it is either science fiction or Cult/exploitation.

Buckaroo banzai counts as anything and everything.

And in my opinion, the original true grit was terrible. John Wayne was a horrible actor.
The remake was well filmed and tightly written and still did was not interesting to me. It's over? That's it? Is how I felt at the end. Big bunch a nothing.

Spaghetti westerns, pale rider, dances with wolves, and Wyatt Earp are the only ones I like.
