This issue was the 1st time I bought an expensive back issues (like 20.00 in 1987ish). Huge Cyclops fan at the time. I became a Neil Adams fan on that day.
Looking through some of the books on my bookshelf today and came across my treasury editions. Thumbed through them all, but when I got to this page I just stared at it for a little bit. This book came to me via my uncle, who died a few years ago. I wasn't even born when this was first published, but I can only imagine the "squee" I would make reading it as an 8 year-old.

Will the full Alan Davis run on Excalibur ever be collected? I have them in single issues but I'd buy a reasonably priced omnibus.
With all the terrible stuff they've collected over the years, you’d think something as good as Alan’s Excalibur would’ve been collected by now. They could just skip all the crap that was in the issues between his first run with Claremont, and his second run which he wrote himself.
I agree. Just the Alan Davis related stuff, the Claremont run as well as when Davis took over completely. I'd accept even the issues he only plotted. And go ahead and throw in the character pin-ups the did in the Marvel Handbooks.
Also wanted to say that when Davis finally began working with Farmer when he returned to Excalibur, it was a match made in comic art heaven.

Absolutely. Though I think Paul worked very well over Alan as well, particulary on Detective, where his heavier inks were better suited. For a lighter book like Excalibur, Mark was the better fit.
Mark seems to still be pretty busy, but Paul deserves to get more work than he does.

But this one is a Cockrum (also awesome, just not Byrne awesome).
NICE!
I like Adkins over Byrne much more than Austin over Byrne.
I thought it was commissioned.

I've always prefered this pic.
