If it is the recent version with Rocket Racoon then it will be awesome. Does anyone know if it will be tied into the Marvel Movie U continuity?
Yes, it will. I'm pretty sure all Marvel Studios films will be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to Latino Review, the end credits scene in Avengers was a set-up for Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers 2. Supposedly Thanos will tangle with the Guardians on his way to Earth. This will then lead into Thanos arriving on Earth in Avengers 2. If Avengers 2 is scheduled for May 2015, this makes sense, as it will be the very next film released after Guardians.
It's probably worth noting that the main evidence presented that this will indeed be Marvel's next movie announcement is Marvel's recent acquisition of several domain names. The registered names could in fact be red herrings. Big studios have been known to employ such tactics. While Guardians of the Galaxy certainly seems to be inline with the reveal at the end of the The Avengers. Nothing is confirmed, nor likely will be until Comic-Con. That said, I would love to see this come to fruition.
Either way, Marvel Comics have just filed eleven new trademark applications for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY covering everything from jewelery to beverages to furniture to cosmetics. The applications cover International Classes 3, 14, 16, 20, 24, 29, 30, 32, 35, 41, 42, and also include computer games, fabrics, foods, paper goods, entertainment and internet services, and even retail store services.
This may not be so far fetched. Marvel is pushing Thanos in the new "Avengers Assemble" book (which is obviously published to piggy back on the movie), and guess who showed up on the last page of the most recent issue?
Bug on the big screen? Never would have guessed that in a million years. Now that it is in my head, I want nothing less.
So, who's a good voice for Rocket Raccoon? And to save money they could ask Peter Jackson to email them some cgi files they used for the Ents, to use as Groot.
Does anyone find it strange that these second wave Marvel movies, Ant-Man, Guardians, Black Panther, Big Hero 6, are all characters who can't hold down their own ongoing series?

Probably because they're the ones who haven't been licensed out already.
Big Hero 6? I must have missed the news on that one. Ant-Man and Black Panther, I can totally see (especially with the Avengers connection)... a Big Hero 6 movie is a bit of a stretch.

Yeah they foreshadowed the hell out of the Ten Rings in the first Iron Man and then just seemed to drop it. Still, that threat is there if they ever choose to pick it up.

From IMDB:
"According to Jon Favreau, the Asian man who hands Vanko false papers in order to get to Monaco is a member of the Ten Rings, the terrorist organization Stark encountered in the first film. This organization is reportedly headed by Iron Man's nemesis, the Mandarin."
Well I like GoG, but I am worried about this announcement for the CGS crew. If I remember correctly Deemer promised to blow the Sony execs and Jaime said he'd pull his pork in the movie theater if GoG made it into a movie. :-O
