Here's a couple covers to whet your whistle for Willingham's Pantheon, published by Lone Star Press. Apparently, the ending he "intended" for Elementals...
Pantheon #8 Pencils: Mike Leeke Inks: Bill Williams
Pantheon #9 Pencils: Matt Clark Inks: Bill Williams
Disliked - sure the drawings are nice - but I can't stand the proportions. It's like a child clipped out some pics of superheros and glued it to paper (again - my opinion)
Of course, I'm still tooling along with my Marvel covers from 1973 this year. Think of it as the "Puppy Bowl" counter-programming to the Super Bowl. ;-)
I bet there aren't many mint copies of that issue. That little frisbee has got to have bent the crap out of the book, and I imagine most were torn off and played with.

I have this issue, it's not mint....and yes, the space spinner is long gone. Didn't rip the cover though.

This image is by the late, great Ron Embleton who did the paintings that appear in the end titles of Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons.
Since it's vacation time (for some) how about a couple of VACATION-THEMED COVERS ?
or just good old summer fun? Do superheroes ever do any frolicking on the beach?
Who's the guy in the back, under the sunshade? He looks shocked. What's the story?
