    Paul Giamatti Up for CGI Enhanced Rhino Role in The Amazing Spider-Man 2

    (The Hollywood Reporter) It looks like Marc Webb's upcoming sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man will be getting another new villain! The Hollywood Reporter says that Paul Giamatti is in talks to play the Rhino in the May 2, 2014 film. It's also being reported that Felicity Jones is in talks for an undisclosed role.

    Giamatti would probably do a great job. I haven't seen anything on it yet is it suppose to be Amazing Spider-man 2 or something else cause personally I'd like it to be Spectacular Spider-man with the 3rd movie being Web of

    Giamatti? That's got to be a joke. He's like 5'5'? I know he's a great actor but not Rhino. I have enough trouble believing Don Cheadle as War Machine.

    At first I was like "Giamatti? Really?" because it seemed like a waste of talent. You're going to put him the Rhino suit and let him run around smashing stuff? Maybe the occasional growling line at Spidey? It may work yet, though. We'll have to see.

    Meh. I like Andrew Garfield way better than cherub-faced Toby McGuire. I was surprise to see Jamie Foxx as Electro, not because he was a black man playing a traditionally white character but...really, another brother with electrical powers? (I'm looking at you Black Lightning, Black Vulcan, Static Shock) it boarders on cliche. Most of the first movie issues I had, cuz it wasn't perfect, were editing and pacing. I think it could have been a lot smoother.
    As far as casting goes I didn't love Sally Field or Martin Sheen but that's mostly because I don't care for either one of them very much, still they were serviceable. This is a series I didnt have much faith in and didn't see a need for but found myself enjoying it anyway. So I'm trying to be less critical and just have a good time.

    Actually, I prefer Maguire to Garfield any day of the week. His Peter made me feel sympathy for the character. Garfield's Peter seems too whiny.

    I'm not going to bash this movie based on the trailer. I still have zero interest in this trilogy (aside from seeing Emma!) I can't say I'd be more interested in this if it looked less like Ultimate Spider-Man, which I never cared for.

    I agree except for the part about Emma Stone It is not like I hate her it just she just does not work for me as Gwen.

    I think the reason I do not care as much for Andrew Garfield Spider-Man vs Toby McGuire Spider-Man is it has to do with it just did not seem to have the same heart as the Toby McGuire Spider-Man movies. I felt more of a connection between the different characters in McGuire's Spider-Man movies.

    Emma Stone works for me, I think, because the one bit of casting that didn't work in the original trilogy for me was Kirsten Dunst. And I think she does all the heavy lifting to make the chemistry work between herself and Garfield.

    As for her portrayal of Gwen, I was never a big Gwen Stacy fan, never really got what was so great about her, especially compared to the fun-loving party girl Mary-Jane. I think the only thing even remotely interesting about her was that she died and that Peter felt responsible. At least in the movie their relationship sorta makes sense and the movie is better when she's on screen, marginally.

    I dont care. Didnt think the first one was very good but wasnt unwatchable. just not re-watchable. Dont care much for this new kid playing spiderman or for his performance. I like emma stone ok but dont get why everyone is so in love with her. but then a wet loaf of bread would be an improvement over dunst imo. i have nothing invested in this and have no expectations so ill see it when i see it and will probably enjoy at least parts of it... then ill forget it. seems to be the status quo all this stuff anymore.

    Emma has talent; there's this way she pulls off roles like in Easy A & Crazy, Stupid, Love. She doesn't come off as this loose cannon like a Lindsey Lohan. She's easy on the eyes, but her voice is what does it for me.

    these are my thoughts ripped from my FB page after seeing the trailer

    Just watched The Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer. Okay. So the beginning really ham-fistedly says "Sinister Six". The OsCorp stuff, definately intrigueing (Vulture's wings!!!I saw them, and he's certainly a part of the Sinister Six, and Doc Ock's tentacles! Also. Sinister Six). I would rather see Green Goblin be sort of something built to towards the end of the movie, than looking like he's going to be all over this one. If anything. The Green Goblin should be revealed towards the end of the Sinister Six movie as the mastermind that brings the six villains together, as the driving force in the shadows pulling the strings, and putting everything/everyone in the proper place. The "Richard Parker" subway bit was also fairly interesting. I know Parker's parents were intelligence agents, of course with rights and stuff being what they are, they're unable to work for SHIELD, so I'm thinking maybe they were more corperate espionage style agents, maybe working for the government or a third party and they got too close and that's why they were presumably killed. I just can't seem to dig Robo Rhino....Final judgement overall is reserved for when i see the movie (i still need to see the first one, so maybe my judgement isn't the best here.) Overall. 6/10. While not terrible, I do have concerns over stuffing three villains into one movie. I'm also giving it a 6/10 for the overt way they hint at Sinister Six. We get it. That's what you're potentially building towards.

    I enjoyed the back-to-basics costume and seeing Spider-man swing around. I would enjoy seeing that. Amazing (sorry) but I still have not seen AMS yet. Just can't pull the trigger.

    There are several moments it seemed to take scenes from Raimi's movie. I thought it lacked that emotion I felt when Uncle Ben got killed that I really felt in Raimi's. One refreshing thing I did like in ASM was the wittiness.

    I guess its too much to ask for younger actors when playing high school or near high school aged people. I get that maybe the amount of young actors who are good is more limited because they have less experience, but Andrew Garfield is my age. I find it hard to believe there aren't any good young actors, and it couldn't really have been about his name recognition for the first movie because he was just "that dude who was in that thing" before that.

    i honestly didn't even get that from the dialogue. Not sure how I feel about Black Cat in a movie. I've NEVER liked Black Cat, IMO she's a poor man's Catwoman. I think there's some stuff they've done to develop her a little bit beyond that (like the whole mask fetish thing she has) but she's never been fleshed out to a point where I look at her and think "That's a distinctively different character than Catwoman." A poor man's Catwoman.

    Perhaps. Black Cat has always been my favorite female comic character. I'm not a big Kevin Smith comics advocate, but his Black Cat: Evil That Men Do was amazing.

    I'd only really want to see a live-action Black Cat if Jazy Berlin (kiddies, don't google) plays the part.
