No thanks. Somewhere in my stuff I have my ticket and program for the pirates series that proceeded that world series. Man that was a crazy time, hopefully the Hawks will get to the NBA finals this year and atlanta will catch the fever again.
Ps - The twins suck and are a bunch of cheats. I stand by 11 year old Matt's opinion on that team.
That may well be, but we made a hell of a lot of money selling their stuff for the next two years at the comic shops I worked at. And I didn't watch any of the game.
So you're that one guy in Minnesota who didn't watch the '91 World Series?
The whole thing is really bizarre. That said, it's pretty cool that of all the Green Lanterns, he's going out as Driq!
What I find bizarre is that the only thing unique to this photo is that the guy is dressed like Green Lantern. Apparently, according to the accompanying article, propping up corpses at their wakes and funerals is an ongoing thing in PR; a recently established tradition of sorts.

That would be a big part of the whole thing being bizarre. However, a guy finding a Green Lantern costume in PR and then choosing to wear it to Dr appts on a regular basis, dying and having his family decide to have him dressed in the costume for his burial services is all still bizarre in it's own right.
A lost Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Sherlock Holmes story was discovered in an attic. The short story was part of a compilation of short stories written to raise funds for a bridge in Scotland that had been wiped out by a flood. The story, in its entirety, can be read here:

Actually, I looked it up and there were a couple that won "lesser" awards (sound editing, vfx, etc.). Great film and up against some great competition: How to Train Your Dragon 2, Boxtrolls, Song of the Sea, and The Tale of the Princess Kaguya.
Didn't Matt Smith just edge out Cumberbatch for 11?
Other way around. Cumberbatch just edged out Smith for Sherlock, which was in preproduction just before Moffat got the job as exec producer on Doctor Who.

Thanks! Imagine how different Who and Sherlock would be if those rolls were reversed.
With Parks and Rec ending tonight what does NBC have for comedies?
Undatable is coming back soon, but everything they started in the fall flopped big time. I wonder if they will be able to build a comedy schedule ever again, seeing as show CBS has the broad, "joke factory" comedies, and ABC is where people go if they have a more thoughtful style...successful producers tend to pitch to successful networks.
NBC was able to build the "Must see TV" formula because they had Cheers, and did such a good job working with it that producers felt NBC was the place to do high quality work. Now...

PS - if you live in GA you need a friend that lives on our southern border.
Pps - if you haven't tried the deadguy whiskey you might be missing out on life.
Oh HELL yeah.
I heard it tastes like... wait for it... hell.
Okay, I'll see myself out now. Sorry.
Fun fact: He pronounces the word "manipulate" as "muh-nipple-ate."
Chad Johnson was on a local Sports Talk show yesterday. He can't say Anaconda. Dude raises snakes and can't say Anaconda.

Benedict Cumberbatch is doing some interview.
Wife: He's so weird looking. He's my least favorite doctor.
Me: Doctor what?
Wife: No. Doctor Who.
:/
