The water pump in my wife's car is leaking coolant. “Ouch, that's going to put a dent in the old pocketbook,” you might be saying. To which I would answer, “Oh, wait’ll you hear the best part: the geniuses who designed the engine made it so that in order to remove the water pump, you have to remove the timing chain first.” And if you know anything about cars, you will likely know that this will more than double the time required for the job, and more than double the cost of the job as well. This year is not off to a great start, I must say.
I'm about to go through over four hours of screen captures for my Hip-Hop Family Tree review.
It's not that the collection is really big mind you (it's only like 95 pages), but it's really dense & I had to spend almost a minute on one or two panels.
So one of my favorite night time books has been the Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling. It has the Mowgli stories, Riki tiki Tavi (one of my favorite opening paragraphs of any story), and the white seal.
However the white seal is probably not appropriate for a 5 year. I almost cracked up realizing I was about to read a mass clubbing of seals to my daughter. It probably wasn't my finest moment as a father, but I read it quickly and moved on.

Have you ever seen the Chuck Jones Rikki-Tikki-Tavi animated short? Loved that as a kid.
Tampa Bay vs Kansas City, Brady vs Mahomes, Gronk vs Kelce, The Bud Bowl, ESPN Classic's Cheap Seats, & that one episode of Mary Tyler More that had a disclaimer.
I have expressed my love for super sentai. I was watching the other day and there was a japanese slot machine monster and an episode where the monster and the sentai had a dance off in some ancient traditional japanese style
To be fair, the monster just wasn't up to date on what the kids were doing. The last dance craze he was even aware of was the Lindy. The kids were just trying to play fair.
I bought a new grill yesterday. First time in about 3 years I've had a real grill. I've been doing a lot of smoking and cast iron cooking, but no grilling.
Time to knock the rust off and see how great I still am

New years reading resolution. I've not done this in years.
Comics - Finish Bendis superman, and 24 comics arcs over the year.
Big boy books - 12 ( I read at night so I tend to fall asleep before I get too far)
Geez. At least you re getting it out of the way early.

It's Chancellor Palpatine's long-forgotten Star Wars line...
"Unlimited Acess!!!"
I was listening to How Did This Get Made podcast.
Ernest Cline borrowed 90% of Ready Player One from Lawnmower Man 2
There's the long time ago mentioned piece. Sorry I keep forgetting to log in here. Kind gotta use to having comic talk over on RSP.

Wrote that recently about issue #1 of 1963.
They've covered things like Superman Lives, Batman Year One, & James Cameron's Spider-Man.

It's all here.
I don't have a local comic shop and so I use dcbs. I have all my orders saved in folders by year.
The first order I have saved October 2010. DCs Generation Lost & Brightest Day were at issues 15 & 16
And Knights of the dinner table was only at issue 170
My LCS held a min-con this weekend.
Here's my haul:
Yup, more Deathmate...
Deathmate. Pure fire
As in, “Throw it on the...” :)
