Yeah, it's hard to remember a time before flex scheduling when the Sunday Night Football games were usually the leftovers.
Even then, I mostly stuck with the ESPN broadcasts as the only way to get TNT until about 1998 was with a cable box & the only TV in my house with the box was in my brother's room. Then, when I finally got a cable box, the Simpsons had moved back to Sunday. So, I just watched that instead.
Man the falcons have given me enough heartbreakers. I'm not sure I can watch 7 parts of disappointment (not disappointments, just one long line of disappointment, even when they are terrible and we knew they were terrible the falcons disappointed).
With that said I am excited about this season and really interested in seeing what should be a really fun offense!
@mwhitt80 I love the SEC short videos too. When they have referenced the disappointment Texas A&M had over COVID ruining a great 2020 schedule, it hit home in a funny way.
Man I feel like comics prices in the secondary market might be getting ready to bubble again. I was listening to a baseball card podcas and one of the guys was starting to buy comics because they are at "an all time low". The low was between 1998 and the first Avengers movie for key issues for most characters (neither here nor there). The guy buying comics was like "I'm getting these books for $3 or $4 books I don't know what is in them. It had spiderman and some other characters in it so it should be a good deal"
I'm thinking if you are looking to liquidate some of your books; now might good time to start looking at moving off some of your collection. The suckers are starting to look at the market again. I don't know if I will get in the market, but I have more than a few junk series from the 2000s I can cash out on because they are not going to get much higher than now.
This weekend, ESPN aired a football game between the Mega-Powerful IMG Academy out of Florida (whose NFL alumni list actually necessitates its own Wikipedia article) and Bishop Sycamore; an Ohio Charter school that claims to have some Division I recruits despite the program only having existed for one year & it not even being part of the Ohio High School Athletics Association.
It played out pretty much the way you would expect with the announcers even going as far as to question the legitimacy of this...
I've said this in a few of my most recent videos, but I'm going to spend Labour Day Weekend with my Brother and Sister-in-Law. It's the first time I've seen him in almost three years. Also, his birthday is coming up on the 27th, so I bought a 64 GB flash drive and filled it up with just over 60 gigs of football games (which I may, or may not have edited commercials into).
These games include:
1970-Kansas City Chiefs at Baltimore Colts (2nd ever MNF game)
1973-Washington at Minnesota (NFC Divisional Playoff Game)
1976-Washington at Minnesota (NFC Divisional Playoff Game)
1979-Seattle Seahawks at Atlanta Falcons (MNF)
1980-St. Louis Cardinals at New Orleans Saints
1982-San Francisco 49ers at LA Rams (MNF)
1982-Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New York Jets
1983-LA Raiders at Dallas Cowboys (MNF)
1984-San Francisco 49ers at Washington (NFC Championship Game, with NFL Today Pregame)
1984-New York Giants at St. Louis Cardinals
1987-Cleveland Browns at San Diego Chargers
1987-Chicago Bears at Minnesota Vikings (ESPN SNF)
1988-San Francisco 49ers at Chicago Bears (MNF)
1989-San Francisco 49ers at Chicago Bears (NFC Championship Game)
1989-Cincinnati Bengals at Minnesota Vikings (MNF)
1990-Minnesota Vikings at New York Giants
1993-Denver Broncos at Green Bay Packers (TNT SNF)
1995-Dallas Cowboys at Minnesota Vikings (TNT TNF)
1996-New York Jets at Washington (TNT SNF)
2000-Seattle Seahawks at Kansas City Chiefs (MNF...with Dennis Miller!)
@mwhitt80 Agreed that it wasn't really an action movie, but as an extension of the Predator franchise well worth going through - honestly, I think it's levels above both AvP and AvP:Requiem. It very much felt like it could have been on of the old Dark Horse minis.
In case any of you out there are missing out on some nightmare fuel this season, I give you the rapid-aging Gonzo from the Muppets' Haunted Mansion Special.
My favorite thing to happen over the weekend was mlb player Joc Pederson getting slapped by Tommy Pham over a fantasy Football argument. Pham got a 3 game suspension and Joc had to hold back laughter when explaining why he got slapped.
Also, I was in Barnes and Noble last weekend and saw this marvelous toy. I never had Playmobile as a child, but I kind of want some now... the Enterprise is also pretty amazing.

My LCS held another Min-Con this weekend. Here's my haul.
They're holding another one on August 14 for Free Comic Books Day.
With training camps opening this week, let's harken back to the days when TNT had NFL coverage...
Here's the 2nd Half...
and the Post-Game Show...
I had forgotten TNT had NFL football. Then memories flooded back when I hit play. The opening video is pure fire

Double post
In case you were wondering see what it is like being a UGA fan. It hit a little close to home the first time. I laughed, and then cried a little.

Man I loved this Nike ad campaign
The making of the commercial. I didn't know ILM created it
Here's my Free Comic Day Haul for this year...I know there's a double-up (I lost track of pictures for the collage on my phone).
All this cost was 8 cans of chickpeas I bought at Costco and then donated to a food drive.

Back from the Twin Cities, here's the haul from my Saturday Geeking trip through a few comic shops.
I visited The Source, The Comic Book College, & Mind's Eye Comics.
Also, yes, I am aware that I did not get issue #4 of Batman/Catwoman (I had to get that on Comixology after not being able to locate it anywhere).
I was watching Predators tonight. My wife walks in and says "Is this an action movie? None of these people look like action stars."
She was not wrong and I cut predators off shortly after. It's just not an entertaining action movie

Got my latest DCBS shipment yesterday. I think it's the most exciting box that I've had in a long while:
Lazarus Risen!
Old Guard: Tales through Time!
Geiger!
Echolands!
Bat/Cat!
Rorschach!
In case any of you out there are missing out on some nightmare fuel this season, I give you the rapid-aging Gonzo from the Muppets' Haunted Mansion Special.
It's Thanksgiving week, what are we thankful for?
@mwhitt80 How about them Dawgs!
Man it's something awesome
I didn't talk about it last night Kirby Smart is from Bainbridge and was 2 years behind my older brother in school. So that's fun.
It's great to be a Georgia Bulldog on bad days; it's even sweeter right now.
@CaptShazam_Jr

So I need someone to complain about fishing with
I always thought it was so dumb that supervillains and heroes would wear belts with their initials
Then I told my wife I want a belt buckle with state of Georgia engraved on it and the word " home " that happens to fall over the southwestern corner.
I now know if were a super villain I would have a giant m or w somewhere on my costume.
Went to a comic shop for the first time in months (years since I have walked in one without kids). It was fun. I got
Batman One Dark Knight #3
Aquaman Andromeda #1&2
Love Everlasting #1
Miles Morales & Moongirl #1
Sakotoma Days #2&3
Out of the DC news releases: New JSA by Johns and Janin (it will be pretty!)
And special 90's themed variant covers. I especially like the one for Batman/Superman: World's Finest
Also, I was in Barnes and Noble last weekend and saw this marvelous toy. I never had Playmobile as a child, but I kind of want some now... the Enterprise is also pretty amazing.
