I loved it, but my love for Godzilla is uncondtional. There's a pretty great video on the Nerdist website that sets teh trailer to "Godzilla" by Blue Oyster Cult, which is pretty funny. I can't link it cuz I'm at work :(

What can you find between Godzilla's toes? Slow runners!

I am psyched. I think this level of realism can work if they've done it as a sci-fi horror story, but without Matthew Broderick, and definitely no Godzookie!

Hey! That Matthew Broderick movie was a great sequel...to Jurassic Park. :D

I couldn't help but feel that the trailer seemed to take itself too seriously. I thought at first it was a trailer for Halo or some video game based movie. As soon as I realized it was Godzilla, I found myself yearning for a 1950's style voice over... or, at least, Raymond Burr.

Actually Chuck, the ORIGINAL teaser (the one they ripped offline about a month + back) had NONE of the human stuff, ALL destruction, with the same cloudy silhouette ending of Godzilla. The whole teaser was set to Oppenheimer's voice saying the following....

It was pretty epic.

I agree. I think I liked that preview more than the new one. Can't quite figure out why soldiers are leaping into a city aflame that clearly looked devastated. When the hell where they going to pull the rip cords because they were moving fast.

A few thoughts:

Are there more monsters in this movie than just Godzilla? Like that thing falling from the sky? Rodan? What about that weird foot thing towards the end? Or the giant skeleton they're walking in?

How much Godzilla do you think will ACTUALLY be in the movie?

That trailer actually looks pretty damn terrifying.
Gives me the same feeling the I had watching early Godzilla films as a kid (before he became ridiculous).

I will see this for sure.

I'm almost convinced. If you pause the trailer when that thing falls from the sky... That looks ALOT like a modern Rodan.

There is also a shot of a a weird glowing tentacle holding a bomb or bullet. Supposedly this is "Muto" a flying spider-like creature that Godzilla will fight.

I totally agree this movie is looking like it's going to kick ass. A serious Godzilla movie has finally arrived since it's first release. There will most certainly be several monsters. we may not even see Godzilla until later in the film. I pray to the gods that this movie is incredibly successful, immediately gets green lit for a sequel and spawns other creature movies as well. Bring on the Kaiju!!!! Gojira!!!!!!
