For a movie that I did not know was coming out until the teaser trailer a few weeks ago it has me pretty excited! And it comes out the day before my birthday.
yeah the effects may be dated but I think back in the day those effects scared the shit out of kids his age. I wonder fifty years from now some 12 year old is going to watch the new G and giggle at the effects. Probably watch films in 2064 in an interactive immersion biosphere or dream booth. Good times.
That Asia trailer has a little bit of spoiler but awesome, awesome, awesome! Muto might be very cool, but I don't think it's gonna walk away from that battle.
I just watched Godzilla Raids Again with the kids last night and I really wished I was recording their commentary through the film. Comedic audio gold right there.
Is there something truly good about the old rubber suit G compared to a CGI beast? Stomping toy tanks and balsa wood buildings looked cool as a kid but this new guy truly looks like they describe- he is the God in Godzilla now. I think the Muto looks less menacing as an adversary. We'll see. I'll be there opening weekend regardless.

That's awesome. You're a good Dad. I baby sat our nephew when he was 6 and he would beg me to watch old Godzilla movies till mid nite. Good times.
I know. I really want to like this movie. I love the classic monster movies so I hope we get something with this movie.
Me too, me too. Nothing was worse than the ending credits playing to the 90,s Godzilla movie and I sat there, so sad. What a waste of an awesome opportunity to make a kick ass Godzilla. There were some cool stuff but overall I was sad and I lost hope for seeing G on the Big screen again.
Awesome! I'm headed to the Pottstown Carmike in PA area with the family- 7:15 baby. Bought the tix online last night. Got a free soundtrack download, not my favorite film score so far but we'll see about the rest.
