CBS host David Letterman to retire in 2015
CBS late night host David Letterman announced that he's retiring in 2015. He shared the news with his audience during a taping that's scheduled to air Thursday night. The Late Show with David Letterman, home of Top Ten Lists and Crazy Pet Tricks, has been on CBS since 1992. Before that, he hosted Late Night on NBC.

CBS is expect to release a statement before tonight's program. The show's bassist, Mike Mills, broke the news on Twitter. -- Jordan Valinsky

On a recent CGS episode that Pants was on, and he talked about Letterman because he'd been shown in the audience the week before, he seemed to talk like he knew it was getting close.

And it seems like Mike Mills, REM's bassist, isn't the show's bassist, but REM are performing on tonight's show. Found this out, because I thought something seemed wrong with that part of the article, when I just googled "mike mills" "late show". Funny, I thought they, REM, broke up a year or so ago.

They're still broke up, and given fairly recent interviews, show no interest in reforming.

Will Lee—who has every bit as impressive a résumé as Mills—is the show’s bassist, and besides Schaffer himself is the only original member left.

The post I read said that Craig Ferguson is leaving the Late Late Show at the end of this year. I wonder if we'll know in a week who his replacement will be. Oddly enough, on the most recent episode of Fatman on Batman it was suggested by the guest that Kevin Smith would be great behind that very desk.
