Disney has announced the opening date for the Captain America sequel. The second installment will open on April 4, 2014. The sequel will pick up after events in the upcoming The Avengers.
Just watched Captain America again tonight (in 3D this time). Cannot wait for another. I do hope they fix his costume though for a sequel. Cant get over how silly he looks in the Avengers movie.
Is anyone actually surprised by the full title? It seemed pretty obvious to me that Bucky would return sooner rather than later. I'm looking forward to this as the Cap movie has been my favorite of all the Marvel films.
FYI: Sebastian Stan can be seen starting tonight on USA's Political Animals miniseries where he plays Sigorney Weaver's gay son. She's playing a former First Lady who becomes Secretary of State. Where do these writers come up with these stories?L
With the Winter Soldier story arc they could bring in the Black Widow so you can have two heroes in one movie, and keeps her relevant until they do the next Avenger's movie. The question I would have who would be villain be besides The Winter Soldier.

We shouldn't be surprised. Sebastian Stan, like all the other lead actors, signed multi-picture contracts. The other actors have appeared in a movie every year or every other year, while Stan has only been in Cap. 3 years will have passed between the filming of the 2 movies, so they had to use him sooner rather than later.

They were going to use her regardless of it being a Winter Soldier film. As Kevin Feige stated after Avengers opened, some of the heroes go their own way post-Avengers, while others stay with S.H.I.E.L.D. Steve remains with S.H.I.E.L.D. because he doesn't really have a life to get back to like Tony, Bruce and Thor. Natasha and Clint also remain, as they are agents. So no matter what the story was going to be, Black Widow and Hawkeye were going to be in the film as back-up. Feige described the movie as an espionage thriller, with Steve going on missions for S.H.I.E.L.D. We can also expect Fury and Hill to play a role, as well.
I think that's a natural way to include the other characters and it doesn't feel like they're being shoehorned in. It makes sense that Steve sticks around because he really has nowhere to go. It makes sense for S.H.I.E.L.D. to be heavily involved because he's a soldier, so his orders/missions have to come from somewhere. He's not a powerhouse like the other lead solo heroes, so it makes perfect sense that he would have Widow, Hawkeye and possibly S.H.I.E.L.D. along for the mission.
He works for me. I guess that maybe the Falcon comes about as people decide to become heroes after being inspired by the Avengers or he could have been a SHIELD agent.

I'm thinking he's also serving as a plot point to show the differences between his new partner (Falcon) and his old partner (The Winter Soldier)

That would work. Hopefully they forgoe a long Falcon origin and get to the action. Love they are going.with Winter Soldier.
I honestly thought Amanda Righetti was Sharon Carter. She played the female S.H.I.E.L.D. agent at the end of Captain America. When Steve escaped, she called it a "Code 13". I kinda thought that was a little hint at who the character was, without actually naming her.

Cap vs. Doughboy, Americop, or The Slug?
So many good stories they are skipping. ;)

I wonder if Black Widow will be in this one. Out of the Avengers line up, I think she makes the most sense (besides Fury of course)

And, Hawkeye and Black Widow would be great in Cap 2
She could be Sin, daughter of the Red Skull?
