I had never heard of this book or the author before finding it in Dollar General. the lead is the daughter of this world's version of Superman and Wonder Woman. She has no powers and feels like that is the reason her father and her do not get along. But now thanks to her job she has a chance to send to jail her parent's arch nemesis. But during the trial a big secret about her past and her families past comes to light.
I think this is the first comic Max Brooks has written. And it isn't worth the 17 bucks I paid. But how could I pass up what is a very gory and violent comic that was found in Walmart racked next to Captain Underpants and Diary of a Wimpy kid. Yep my local Walmart racks any comics with the kids books. This is after I have shown the head of book section how non-kid friendly stuff like The Walking Dead is.
Under this Matt Wagner cover we get 20 stories from Dark Horse Presents. I really enjoy the Ed Brubaker autobiographical story Burning Man. Wagner's The Aerialist is fun. And with it being Dark Horse Presents we get a short but fun Eddie Campbell Bacchus story.
After searching for years for this out of print and now very expensive book, used copies go for between 300 and 500 bucks,I got a copy and read it. If you love the 70s and 80s terrritory days of pro wrestling this is a book you must read.
I love horror fiction. And consider Jack Ketchum to be in my top 3 of modern horror novelist. This is his only book so far with supernatural elements. And boy does it suck.
Old Flame is actually 2 novellas. Old Flames which is an old screenplay Ketchum tried to sell for years. When no one would buy it he turned it into a novella. It is about a woman that hires a P.I. who's specialty is tracking down ex-boyfriends or girlfriends. And it reads likes a slightly more violent novelization of a Lifetime original movie.
The other novella in the book is Right to Life. A woman is going to have an abortion. She gets kidnapped from in front of the clinic. And is held captive in the basement of a Pro-life couple's home. They plan on keeping her alive until she has the kid. When they will kill her and raise the kid as their own. Ketchun seems to be speaking about the hypocrite ways of the Pro Life couple. They believe the lead lady is evil and doomed to hell because she is gonna have an abortion. But they do not think their kidnapping her and planning on killing her is wrong or evil.

Where did you find that? I've been wanting to read it for the last 2 years.

I love book full of movie reviews. In the pr-internet days it is how I found out about movies I had never heard of. So when I found this collection of 47 Asian movie reviews I took a chance on it.
Found this for 10 cents at the library book sale. Since I just put a SNES emulator on my laptop I wanted a book full of codes and cheats for SNES games.
Likewise one of the all time favourite books. One I've read multiple times. And ultimately the book that got me into comics as a whole (via the Peter David, Robin Furth and Jae Lee comics).

2015 Reading Challenge Book 023 Castaways by Brian Keene
Imagine if whatever island the reality TV show Survivor is set on,is also home to a tribe of mutant beast men that like to kill and eat people.
Book 24 The Bachman Books
Yeah it is actually a collection of 4 novels. But they are all short. And I have read this book many many times. So counted it as 1 book.

If you find this cheap it is worth a read.

Book 39 Booker T From Prison to Promise
I have watched Booker wrestle since the early 90s. Got to meet him after a WWE PPV in Houston almost a decade ago and he was extremely nice.
First off I do not hate Liefeld's art. Sure it isn't great. Secondly I am a huge BSG fan and will try out any media set after the original series.
I love the novel this comic book adaptation was based on. So grabbed a copy of the trade cheap a year or so back.

Published by IDW,there is something suspect of a list of top 100 horror films that is missing the original Dawn of the Dead.
I wouldn't have known about this book if it wasn't for Murd talking about it on the show.
Watched the film adaptations of A Good Marriage and Big Driver the past 2 days so wanted to re-read the collection they are in.
