Looks intriguing enough. I can never get enough time travel and it looks like they're just gonna go nuts with everything. Only complaints are I'm not a fan of the actors/characters making up firestorm, and wtf are capt cold and heatwave doing there? I know people apparently loved them on flash (personally I find them almost unbearable) but cmon.
Not great but good and fun. I enjoyed it. I've only watched the first season of Arrow and have yet to start Flash but I didn't feel like I was missing anything. The cast were all good I like the time travel angle. I'm curious to see where they go with this show.
Just watched it. Not terribly impressed. It really came off like it was rushed and they didn't try too hard. Or perhaps more like it seemed they figured they didn't need to try very hard if that makes sense? It was hard to take seriously and pretty damn cheesy. Not as good as flash or arrow. Not that they (especially arrow) aren't cheesy, but this was really cliche and hokey. I think it suffers from an overstuffed cast too personally. Maybe a couple less characters could would help it?
I enjoyed very much and am looking forward to this season. The time travel angle is a clever way to incorporate many corners of the DCU that would never make it to live action otherwise. Brandon Routh leads a strong and appealing cast. You may want to check out his interview on Kevin Smith's podcast where he reflects on Superman Returns and his other work. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwBBMOCG3JY
I really like Brandon Routh. Was really glad to see him get another bite at the apple with tv / atom. He easily was close to fading into Hollywood obscurity. He quickly became my fave part of arrow along w felicity. I really hope he gets the majority of the spotlight on legends cause he's the best part of it too imo next to rip hunter. The podcast showed him to be (by appearances) a genuinely good guy.
As of the third ep, this is easily the weakest show of the bunch. Maybe it'll improve, but it really is cheesy and poorly written and set up. Flash and arrow have their share of problems and things I can personally complain about, but legends just doesn't seem to really even try not to be dumb. I reallt dislike the firestorm kid. The old man, while the best actor of the bunch annoys me, both Hawkman and woman are pretty blah in every way. I like Routh / atom but he's barely on screen and his character is all over the place. I like the white canary girl ok or at least the actress but her character is done as a cliche. I like rips character and the actor. Hear and cold are decent actors but have no real believable place here. Their performances at least heats is ok comic relief but not enough. On the bright side the sets and effects are rather good.
I've been really digging this show so far. I've loved seeing the team come together. I'd love to see the Haunted Tank for some reason. Booster Gold would be cool as well. Also, I'd want to see maybe the Rawhide Kid and maybe the Question as well.
That'd be tough, as he's a Marvel character. But that's okay, DC’s western characters—Bat Lash, Jonah Hex, Scalphunter, El Diablo—are much more interesting than Marvel’s.
This show needs better use of the time travel aspect. So far, it's just a couple simple period costumes and battles in non-descript industrial buildings. (the egypt sets are an exception, but not really in the main story line). Not sure how much they have the budget for, but I would like to see a huge variety of time periods, ala Dr. Who.
