The pose is the same as on the cover of Tales of Suspense #59, penciled by Kirby and inked by Dick Ayers, but this Italian cover was retouched by another inker—see the added feathering on the shield—and was poorly reproduced on top of that, with the blacks being printed so heavy it gunked up the all the feathering. (And it looks like whoever recolored the Marvel version for digital screwed up on Cap’s left leg, taking the red all the way up the leg past where the boot should have stopped.)
I think many of these foreign editions worked from stat copies or even transparencies and there was much touching up. Some of them have some really terrible coloring not even close to the source material. Usually, the Italian books, especially the Corno and Star books, are nicely done with heavier stock covers. Often times, I like them better than their American counterpart.
Some of the changes might be to reformat to a new size. Many of the Marvel UK weekly books add a page of content to bridge the gap between breaks in the story.

With wrestling coming back to the Turner family it is time for some fun.

Here are some HEAVILY altered Italian books...
That cover is of it's time. ImI'm not sure what is going on, but the colors really pop
I've poked fun a Stephen Platt in the 90s before, but I think I will do a little tribute series of covers over the next few days.
