Tomorrow People - the story of several young people from around the world who represent the next stage in human evolution, possessing special powers, including the ability to teleport and communicate with each other telepathically. Together they work to defeat the forces of evil.
Isn't this the second time this show has been remade? I seem to remember it being on Nick back in the 80s.
Oh, I misread the title. I thought it was the X-Men.
The Originals (The Vampire Diaries spin-off) - The series enters on the Original family of vampires, as Klaus returns to the supernatural melting pot that is the French Quarter of New Orleans — a town he helped build centuries ago — and is reunited with his diabolical former protégé Marcel.
I figure this one has the best chance. It's got a built in fan-base.

I want to say the original and first remake were British shows.

You would be correct; except the Nick version was in the 90s...
I'm sensing an interest in young females, 18 - 25 yrs, on the CW's part...
That has been their main demo since they got rid of Smackdown. Quite frankly, I dont' understand their business model any more, since they don't seem to get ratings and market penetration high enough for shows to make a profit, IMHO.

While the network doesn't post numbers as high as the Big 4, their shows make a profit because a lot of them are very successful beyond television. Shows like The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, Nikita and 90210 perform very well in a combination of online streaming, DVD sales and foreign syndication. While Arrow doesn't have any DVDs yet, it's one of the network's most watched shows on Netflix, is consistently one of the most downloaded shows on iTunes and is one of the highest rated American shows overseas.

I have a vague memory of Nick airing the 70s version sometime in the mid 80s. We didn't have cable at the time, but seem to remember watching it with my cousin once. But my memory is pretty bad and I might be mixing it up with another show.

Claremont and Byrne "borrowed" so much Tomorrow People and Doctor Who for X-Men and later works. Of course, at the time those shows weren't seen often here in the States, so it was pretty easy.

Pics from season 2 of Mortal Kombat: Legacy. Joining the cast is Marc Dacascos as Kung Lao, Brian Tee as Liu Kang and Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa as Shang Tsung (reprising his role from the original film). The trailer arrives tomorrow.
Gonna be a pretty good weekend. The return of Doctor Who and the Orphan Black series premiere on Saturday, followed by The Walking Dead season finale and the Game of Thrones season premiere on Sunday.
Robbie Amell will play the series lead, Stephen. He will be a tormented man who longs to be normal and is relieved when he learns that he’s not crazy but rather part of a group of genetically superior “Tomorrow People.”
Peyton List will play Cara, the female member of the “Tomorrow People” group who has a sense of humor beneath her serious demeanor and seems to be a trustworthy ally.
Luke Mitchell will play John Young, a member of the Tomorrow People with a specialty in teleportation who is instrumental in recruiting other gifted people to the group.
Mark Pellegrino will play Dr. Jedikiah Price, an evolutionary biologist committed to containing the threat posed by the “Tomorrow People,” whom he believes to be a grave danger to the human race.
