Your post reminded me so I though I'd share, Marshalls and TJ Max sometimes have Marvel and DC figures at a pretty good discount. I saw a large selection of Green Lantern movie figures this weekend but didn't buy, but I've also seen a Marvel selects Cap and Red Skull I think for 12 dollars or something like that.
This weekend I'm planing on take a trip to the big flea market warehouse close to here and see if I can find any con-type deals, and the junk food will be easy to come by while i'm there
For the "bad" food, I have to work this weekend which means I can swing by and grab a Maxwell Street polish or a Chicago dog on the way home. Oh...or a chili cheese bun, our local root beer drive-in has a sloppy joe like sandwhich that is a thick chili topped with melted cheez whiz. All the good stuff that's bad for you. Hitting the flea market as well to check out the toy and comic selection.
Found a loose DCUC Aquaman fig at a local shop yesterday. Think it might be the one from the Mer-Man DC/MotU two-pack, but who cares, I finally have an awesome fig of the classic Aquaman!
Anti-Con is turning out pretty well for me! Here's hoping my friend was able to snag me one of the Jerry Ordway Shazam tv series posters the Warner Archive people were giving out.
I'm slaving away on these "commissions" - the results should be posted tomorrow sometime, but don't hold me to it...may have to be Monday.
Hope you've all been enjoying the Anti-Con as much as I have. Did yet another order from the site which shall not be named and had a really greasy quesadilla for dinner today!
In no particular order - the voting has not yet begun!
Was going to do the Grell "Corset Boy" version but if I don't have to foist that evil off on anyone I'm not going to. :)
Taskmaster! Or Skeletor in a horribly horribly outdated costume!
Supergirl! This one's not part of the voting, but I figured Library Boy might want a sneak preview. No this won't happen every time someone gets burned during the Secret Santa exchange, so stop your plotting! :)
Dawnstar. I like this one because the wings came out better than usual. Not happy with her face...looks like she just caught a whiff of someone cutting one! :)
Booster Gold stealing his Legion flight ring. Shame on you. Was going to put Skeets in there but had to stop...
Brainiac 5 - from the Legion animated series...
And here's drunk, Liefeld Cap to sing us on out! :)

I love this. We've spoken through the forums before about our mutual love for Supergirl's hotpants costume (and era, I'm sure), so not only did I figure you'd choose this look, but that you'd do an awesome job of it. This is all kinds of awesome and I thank you for it.

Well, PM me your snail mail and I'll send her to you along with a bunch of comics. And thank YOU for your patience after the whole Secret Santa debacle.
Also Greg, you're the winner of the sketch of Dawnstar. The panel (my wife), thought she was the best of the bunch! I think I still have your mail addy from that commission I did for you awhile back, but PM me just in case I don't!
Hope everyone had a fun Anti-Con 2012. Okay, there were no big movie announcements or high-fallutin exclusives to be had, but we ate bad food, bought some cheap merch, and pretended to watch a pro in action sketching stuff! :) Hopefully we'll do this next year, unless I score tickets to SDCC 2013...in which case...SCREW YOU ALL!! :)
What's nice is to see I've actually made progress in the right direction as an artist. :)
I thought about doing the Anti-Con this year because I wasn't going (I went the past two years which is why there wasn't one)...but for some reason I've gotten busy doing actual comic book work! Between working on Thugs!, Barbrabarian, Red Skirts, and a soon-to-be-announced new project...I'm a busy guy! In a good way!
For the record, though, I did buy a slew of trades at that Buy2Get1Free Barnes & Noble thing, and ate some really horrible Chinese food last night...2 outta three ain't bad, right? :)
